Afaik, abusing the reporting function for personal gain is against the ToS. Didn’t asmongold get a 7 day ban for this?

Ignore the mass report threats, those won’t do anything but the people abusing the system will be suspended.

I know of one instance this did happen. An Alliance guild mass reported a Horde player to interfere with his AQ/Scarab Lord progress. Blizz investigated and reverted him, temp banned the abusers.
Caused an entire riot and massive pvp battle on the server until the Alliance guild was shut down and denied their Scarab Lord for the underhanded act. Bet someone knows which I mean.

If Blizz is still on point nowadays though, not sure.

Black Desert Online has an interesting way of doing it. They block you from doing player to player trading; you have to use the AH. You can’t even trade coin.

Additionally, the AH has fixed prices. You can’t list an item that normal would sell for, say, 5g for 15000 gold. Unless the price range includes that 15000 point. It also varies based on demand; more demand, the higher the ceiling on the price.

The only real way in BDO to ‘sell’ coin is to group up and “funnel” loot to the person (basically loot is FFA).

It’s extremely draconian, but there’s very few gold (silver in this case) selling adverts.

One thing to also note is in BDO you don’t get kicked for being AFK. So, with WoW…it’d be pretty much impossible to ‘funnel’ to your client (as in the person paying you to get them coin) unless the person turned over account credentials or used a bot to avoid AFK.
