Incursions are a Scapegoat

People wouldn’t even be complaining about incursions if they gave XP/gold similar to 5 man dungeons. It’s the fact that it’s exponentially better XP, gold and gear than everything else that is the problem. You aren’t forced to do them, but you basically are because everything else is dramatically less efficient. The convoluted item bloat that defacto requires you to use an addon just to effectively manage is also poor game design

I was doing duskwood incursions on my alt last night and went 25-32 in about 2 hours total. You shouldn’t be getting 1.5 levels from a 15 min incursion loop.

My man, you have some terminal, unhealthy levels of cope over sod

let it go

By illogically saying “2 million subs because of sod”, it actually makes sod look worse for you, as you are claiming there were more players than there really were, making the drop off look even worse

The sight isnt “wrong and bad” because you dont like the outcome. You’re better off accepting IFpro numbers because it makes the drop of from 500-600k look less brutal than “2million”, and you cant even tell who subbed to what version anyways so its a false dichotomy

Incursions get a LOT more focus than they should, but they definitely were one of the dents in SoD.

ST is just not a fun dungeon, so it didn’t make for an amazing raid. (Mechanics are fine… the aesthetic is just not fun.)
Incursions being degen content definitely didn’t help. (Especially with the goldsplosion kerfuffle at launch.)
Being squished against Cata (disastrous) launch, with took devs away from SoD which put SoD on a delay on phases that are already 2-3 weeks too long. (Not complaining about 8 week phases, devs need time, just too long for content.)
At level 50 there’s the least content.
Can’t effectively do rep grinds outside of the wardens or some of the BGs (if you weren’t already exalted)

It’ll be interesting to see what happens at P4 drops. That’s where all the reps open up, a few OG raids, all of BRD, and everyone’s full talent tree and all runes.

I do have to giggle at all the people that “quit SoD forever” but just stick around the SoD forums.

Balanced human here:
Quit MWO → Left MWO Forums
Quit Warthunder → Left Warthunder Forums
Quit HOTS → Left HOTS Forums

Then we have people who “quit SoD” and just hang around the SoD forums to whine, complain, or insult other people who are still playing it.

All these Vegan Convert analogues are strange to me. “…I don’t miss SoD. Not missin you at all… missin you…”

I’ll agree that they played some role but I think they get way, way, way too much attention.
I predicted during phase 1 that phase 3 would be the worst phase because this is the worse bracket by default.

Phase 1 was new.

Phase 2 brought capstones, brought plate/mail, brought mounts, brought SM (bad in some respects but mostly well-liked content).

What does phase 3 do? Not much. Bad zones mid dungeon content and no progression milestones.

My point is people blame incursions when phase 3 was doomed unless Blizzard pulled off a miracle, which they clearly didn’t. It’s just the worst level range and even if incursions were not bad it would have been the same conclusion. Vanilla Andies simply refuse to accept there are flaws in old content.

Also ST loot sucks which accelerated the decline.

Yeah, with the exception of Hinterlands the 40-50 zones aren’t great. (Honestly the 50+ zones aren’t amazing to me either outside of the plaguelands.)

And the only 50 dungeon I like is half inaccessible and half unusable loot.

And yeh, ST loot has been unkind to me lol

The true lesson to be learned is that if they do phase level brackets again, skip the level 50 bracket.

Ideally I’d prefer they just do a 40 bracket and then 60. 25 was fun and cute but classes were missing so much.

Yeah, 25 bracket was not a good time to be a Shaman outside of tanking… lol
No talents, no weapons…
