Look, I’ve explained this many times before. But the short version is that it’s cheaper for people to buy gold illegally and spend a little of that to buy a token off the ah than to pay a sub. They get their game time and a big chunk of gold for paying the same they would have for a token to sell for gold + paying for their sub.
If Blizz is really too stupid to realize this, then they’re completely incompetent. The token wasn’t added to stop or even diminish gold buying. Blizz just wanted a piece of the action. And the dummies who buy the tokens to sell on thr ah are the saps that hold the whole system up.
Anyway, as far as these quests giving players a ton of gold…yeah get ready for inflation. Ah prices will rise. But game gold sinks like epic mounts evaporate.
On the bright side it might put gold sellers out of business. Or at least make it pretty blatantly obvious if someone is buying gold when $1 USD gets you 1000 gold lol in which case those players get a 6 month suspension.
Of course but if you offer them a way to buy Gold without going to a sketchy website and risk having your account compromised and/or banned by Blizz I think moist would choose the legal route.
