I wouldn’t know. I started a couple months after launch. I figured giving this a few days wouldn’t kill me. Classic isn’t going anywhere.

I can see that the hype is REAL though, lol.

it would be very excellent if they could finish prior to me getting home from work. They should definitely try to make that a priority :slight_smile:

Their cloud server infrastructure can handle easily ten times what they’re allowing. They made it clear that they want restrictions in place to avoid dead servers later. They also want players to spread across all the realms. People won’t do that if a few servers have no queues. They want people to leave certain servers and populate others.

Depends how much they increase it by and whether or not they lock the servers so that more accounts can’t join the high pop ones.

dude thats not what layering is. layering has no effect on the amount of people per realm. stop spreading that incorrect information.

Might wanna move to a realm with no que or a smaller que.

Upping the cap eventually become unreasonable.

My queue on Incendious just dropped by 2k people and ~1 hr

Then please explain what layering is, because that’s exactly what layering addresses. It’s virtual instances of each continent on each realm. So adding layers allows more people to play on each realm. This allows them to add capacity without the downside of empty servers down the road. Granted there is a balance of not adding too many layers so that the server is not overcrowded once they remove layers.

I logged on at 5 pm yesterday with a 8k+ que on incindius, so I proceeded to pick up kids, make dinner, clean up the house, read my kids books, put them to bed, take a shower, have a couple beers, and then at 10:15pm I had a 30 min que and 98 to go. I thanked blizzard for making me productive and went to bed. Ill try again today.
