When people say they’re “just being honest,” what they’re really saying is “I can’t find ways to actually be constructive in my feedback so I’m just going to be insulting and rude and veil it as ‘honesty.’”

I’ve seen people be entirely truthful/honest and it often gets dismissed as “trolling” just because it’s not something people want to hear despite being good info.

A lot of threads/posts are just venting and not interested in actual help.

First off I never said there was no toxicty, just that it was very heavily overblown on GD.

Cause telling someone whos dps is trash that its trash isn’t toxic or against any rules. Its hardly a personal attack or harrassment in any way its letting you a know a fact that your dps is trash. If you can’t seperate your dps that you do from your person I dunno what to tell you. The word toxic seems to get thrown around allot for very little to no reason.

I report stuff all the time from trade chat, but little seems to be done. Not even just terrible conversation topics, like politics
 just the sexually explicit, homophobic, racist, etc. and it’s all still pretty much garbage.

It depends how you phrase. “You’re trash” is toxic and violates the social contract.

Saying something like, “you aren’t maintaining the DPS we need for this” is better.

Doing poor damage on a particular pull or overall is relevant, though, and suggest that something is being done wrong. If I post a breakdown of a particular key or arena match for better players to look at then it might definitely be a valid thing to go “why damage so low”, then go from there to figure out why it was.

Poor cd usage, use of mobility, bad target selection, wonky route, whatever.
