Why doesn’t the error message tell people to update their launcher? That’s what it almost always is. It would save a lot of support time.

Maybe it should.
But suggesting it here won’t change anything, since the people who design these things don’t read this forum or accept suggestions here.
I know but most of these forums are just screaming into the void anyway. At least when people read this they’ll get an answer for their incompatible server problem.
Usually just using check for updates helps, but if the launcher itself has a pending update restarting the pc is the next step.
Self help in the support pages likely does more detail.
Had the same issue, checked download manager and it showed update available for wow but it was currently running. Go to task manager and make sure all instances of WoW is closed then check if you can update.
