Yeah, easier loot and less annoyance.
Except for Brann, they coded him poorly as a joke. I’m sure.

I am of the mindset that that lockouts should be resettable (only used as a way to save progress) and that there should be no caps on crests, sparks or other such things. Time gating is not good for the player and pushes them into a skinner box. If you are a shift worker, or a serving military member you will have periods where you have free time. If that does not line up with Blizzards schedule for how much you should progress; then you may never have an opportunity to compete or get anywhere. As well, if you have alts you will be focused on getting all your caps completed. Rather than prioritizing the fun and specialization on a single character (before moving to the next).
People will speak of burn out, but I find maintaining a ‘reset’ schedule more exhausting than just spamming activities I enjoy when I have free time and energy to do so.
I just don’t understand how playing this game for loot is ever fun. Just seems like a way to become bitter towards the game and your fellow players.
MMOs aren’t games you can just play for as long as you want, it’s why there’s a weekly reset to begin with.
Maybe for those unemployed, of course.
You will take the 3 deep timegating and you will love it lol
If you did this you’d have to tune the content much MUCH harder, because the expectation this patch, for example, wouldn’t be that you’d be attempting it with 705-715 ilvl. It’d be that you’re attempting it with 723 ilvl.
There would be no room to acquire power to overcome the challenge, because power acquisition would occur before the challenge is even attempted. Not to mention the laundry list of grinding it’d add.
Ladies, please, no one in this thread can change BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT’s desire for money.
World first/ try hard andies.
There will always be those who will push until they are fully maxed within a week without a cap.
Caps protect those with no self control
That said though the caps are so low even casuals like me hit them, so I certainly feel there could be a more middle ground
Difference with me - I will just go play an alt once one toon a capped. Cause if you’re crest capped there’s no point to do the content anymore.
Many MMO’s allow you to grind as much as you’d like with little to no time-gating mechanics. The unemployed comment is inappropriate, if you are trying to imply that is my circumstance. When I am working I will be extremely busy for a few weeks; then I will have down time for a week or so before another flurry of items comes up.
For me (and this is a me thing) I would rather capitalize on the time I have to play, then base my schedule on whats optimal for Blizzard. This is why as time goes on I will typically unsub until the last few months of a season.
Yeah, other companies also make MMOs but this one isn’t like those.
I tank and heal, so I don’t care about caps one way or the other. I’ll get my group invites.
If you’re a dps below 720 ilvl right now complaining about the cap then lol. Get filtered right out, you won’t even be seen.
But what if I don’t care about ilvl on this character, is that a crime?
We can do M+ repeatedly endlessly. It would give us infinite number of crests. If there;s no cap, everybody would max upgrade all their Heroic gear on all slots on Week1. That’s ilevel 710+ on week 1… everyone. Everyone would be on M+10 and up on Week 1.
By few weeks, nobody would play M+ anymore becoz everyone would be on max gear.
Set to drain
I remember my smashing pumpkin days in high school
Sounds like vandalism.

GAYME OVER.
No, we just threw eggs at cars and houses
No pumpkins were harmed. Now that eggs cost a fortune, I’d have to pick something else
Dog poop in a brown paper bag?
No that was the old hairdresser lady at my former office who would leave a “gift basket” at our door step because the public parking was “hers”
Okay….but no. It would stink the whole office up
That’s an ever greater incentive.
To me that’s just part of the job. I wouldn’t count that as a reason to cap things or time gate.
Not an exact example of my IT project has 3 month timeframe but we have to adjust thing to adapt to unexpected events (happens a lot more than people thing btw - at least in healthcare) we get no time extension. It’s “figure it out”. The only we get extension is stuff beyond our control - like a vendor screws up on their part (actually happened for real before delayed us by a month).
