It was completely the wrong decision. Rules for hardcore are simple, all deaths are permanent, the disclaimer was clear, yet they backtracked on this. All this did was kill hardcore. Basically they sold out to a bunch of streamers who had their fans whine.
this is to DDOS, not a person’s own internet issue or fault??? idk what more I can say.
For the record, I didn’t lose a toon to DDOS. But I think it’s wrong if Blizzard doesn’t respond or take any action for those who did lose a toon. If you love HC, you’d be on this side as well. Ppl will quit if they don’t take action.
What?
You think that’s goin to stop anyone from making an appeal any time they die now? Of course it won’t; that’s precisely what players will do
But Blizz will ignore them until DDOS attacks happen. Which we’ll see how frequent they are.
bro we totally understand this.
Won’t matter, they’ll just die in the next DDOS anyways
It doesn’t matter how the death occurred, the fact that it was a DDOS was meaningless. It was still a death. Basically nobody in OnlyFans is HC anymore, they are just a bunch of cheats, like when all those people got all their deaths “appealed” in appeal-core on BSB.
Everything OnlyFangs, does going forward is completely meaningless, and any continued journey is tainted.
Dude… I know OF or streamers in general are your personal boogeyman (or at least, it seems so). But there’s nothing hardcore about letting a group of malicious individuals screw over the server’s population. And it is the server’s population, they’re bringing back all the people that died during the attacks, no just OF…
You never got out of barrens and it shows. get outta here with that “logic”
I played almost every ARPGs with a Hardcore mode since Diablo 2 days. I never witnessed a revive roll back or what ever in any circumstance, even when big streamer died. It literally kills the “Hardcore” vibes altogether. A complete farce made by Blizzard tonight
Nobody should have been restored period. The moment you restore a single person, you have destroyed HC.
Every rule has its exceptions; and this is a good one. You’re being overly rigid.
I’ve played D2 HC back in the day as well. But it’s a totally different category and/or situation.
you’ve just incentivized an arms race weekly ddos event every time they raid and the comedy that will ensue if blizz have to res/rollback each time. it’ll be worth it just for that entertainment.
It’s not. You play a game in hardcore mode that literally disclaims you that there is “NO” revive in any circumstance when you create a character? Hardcore WoW is now Appealcore and a complete meme atp
not just the streamers, but everybody else who died in the ddos attacks. I don’t think it’s right if blizzard did not take action.
i.e. targeted DDOS, for streamers or nonstreamers alike.
You do realize that streamers contribute to the community positively right? Lol. What’s your issue? I’m not a streamer btw- but what’s with all the hate bro.
I don’t care, you can’t convince me otherwise. THE WHOLE SERVER COULD OF DIED and still reviving them kills any adrenaline or momentum to go again in a Hardcore mode game. The “hardcore WoW” will now be tainted as a complete meme made by Blizzard.
Honestly, good. I don’t even like the onlyfangs stuff, but if all the unrelated and innocent other players who got caught in the crossfire are able to get their characters back, I think that’s cool. Losing a character should only be caused due to a misstep of yourself or players around you, not due to some kid with a botnet on the other side of the world. And ONLY people who died from the DDoS attack(s) should be revived.
If you think this is streamer privilege, you might need to go outside and touch grass. Hundreds of non-related players lost their characters due to the DDoS attacks.
If anything, it’s probably against blizzard’s best interest to bring onlyfangs characters back, because it’s going to make them a target for DDoS attacks again.
I died along with three other party members about 12 hours after the original attacks due to server instability (disconnects), could this be related to the original ddos attacks and should I reach out to someone about it? I’m worried we’ll be overlooked
No, after the streamers effectively killed hardcore, so no they provided nothing positive to HC. First they destroyed Defias because they launched the fresh server for them, now they destroyed actual HC, because their fans can whine a lot.
