In game mail is not completing within 1 hour.
I have several alts, and I have noticed over the last few days that mail is definitely not arriving at the end of an hour. Sometimes, not even at the end of 2-3 hours.
Sometimes it’s showing up a day (or 2) later.
I have no idea what would be causing this to happen.
As far as I understood, mail would take an hour to arrive between anyone? I’ve got my own alts on my friend list. I’m not sending the mail to the wrong player, it is ‘eventually’ arriving, just not in a timely fashion. What’s up? Is it just backlogged?

Mail arrives instantly, you’ll notice a mail icon appear then poof. Unsure what they did but it’s a “ ghost” in your mailbox.
They gave us 12 mail slots (which is a change) but took out instant mail, (between characters of an account) which I cannot say definitively was in classic, but if they can give us 12 mail slots, instant mail is a no brainer. 1 hr to another account is fine, but between your own toons? /wrist

I too have noticed issues with mail not showing up on time.

No, mail does NOT arrive instantly in Classic all the time. Stop spreading wrong information.
The only instant mail in Classic I can think of is 1.) mail without gold or items attached OR 2.) auction house mail.

This is the correct behavior. In vanilla, mail between toons on the same account was about 1 hour. AH purchases were instant, and mail with no money or items was instant. Depending on what addons you are running, mail information may also be skewed…Actionator and Titan Panel seem to be slightly confused with new mail notifications.
Yes, we’re aware that’s intended, hence the OP… What is actually happening ISN’T that though, again, hence the OP.

I can confirm that the late mail (over 1 hour) is not just for people with add ons. I am currently running no add-ons and have noticed late mail. I mail something to a different one of my characters and take note of the time. Then I switch to that other character and run some quests or whatever while waiting for the mail icon to appear and frequently I’m seeing it show up 10-20 minutes later than expected.
