Big kudos to the 16 people keeping the raiding scene alive there. They should make a hall of honor with statues of those players when they reopen Chaos Bolt.

Yeah, unfortunately not many people have stuck around to see where this goes in phase 4. Phases were too long and too weak in creative content. Additionally, really messing up the whole server transfer thing left a bad taste in a lot of mouths; friends no longer had the opportunity to play together in Phase 3 and were too fatigued with the same boring content to restart from scratch. Those transfer windows left people stranded and it was much easier to just quit because there was really no new fun content to pursue for the rest of Phase 3.
The biggest thing that was miscalculated throughout the WoW enterprise is that this is, by its nature, a social game. When you ruin the opportunity for people to play together, how they want, they stop playing. Moreover, in SoD youâre coming back now introducing 20 man raiding (or flex raiding) in Phase 4 after telling everyone, point blank, that you felt 40 man raiding was essential to be preserved. Its just too late. The reality is that most of the people playing SoD are nostalgia players not looking to pull together 40 people to raid. I think that being tone deaf to those concerns until this 11th hour was a tragic mistake. Its true, you cant please everyone. But Blizz didnt take the time to think about the behavior of those playing SoD. The average player isnt a 20 year old in a college dorm room. The average player is a working individual who has limited time to play games at this chapter of life. Running endless incursions, doing stv pvp events every couple hours, and being forced to participate in 20 or 40 man raiding wasnt for the average SoD player.
Its unfortunate, there was a great opportunity here with SoD.

Honestly not really. When they told us P3 was going to last longer with no ETA in sight, and then not even 2 weeks later, S4 suddently has a PTR and is âcoming along swimminglyâ with STILL no information, and then we gotâŚthis, itâs clear that, at minimum I feel, Blizzard just isnât taking SoD seriously. They couldnât treat classic this way because it was already all done, but SoD/Classic +? They could absolutely handle barely delivering so when enough people leave they could likely pull the âSee you think you wanted it but you didnâtâ angle.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again, even though its too late now.
If they had given us a new unique BATTLEGROUND, cough Azshara, we wouldve seen FLOCKS of players from all other versions of the game to come back, hit max lvl, work on runes, just to be able to PVP in a unique environment. This wouldve kept the player base distracted for long enough to work on the next patch. But alas we got recycled pvp.
Couldve changed the Emerald Dream rep to so that the pvp gear was locked behind⌠pvp?
or atleast they shouldve added PVP quests to give some incentive to actually PVP in these zones like they wanted us to.

Youre likely to be stuck in a fail group when you join a random group with no sense of insurance and itll ruin your whole week when you lose the loot from the first 2 bosses and the group falls apart

This has never been my experience in classic at all and Iâve only ran 1 gdkp in my entire time playing, but you know, I do play with a guild.
