In 10.0 - the war on flying needs to end

Oh no, I need to actually explore the zone and play the game?

Flying is super easy to get. You just need to do basic exploration of a zone. It’s perfectly tuned. And about these 4 weeks, why do you care if you’re not going to resub anyway?

I have had flying in every expansion except one. I never did flying in BfA.

I was not playing at that time anyway. I went much later to get a look at it never paying much attention to it.

New characters can start in it but I always will have an affection for the old classic zones for initial questing. I go to Chromie and select Cata to level in.

I do not mind the initial grind from level 1 (or level 10) to level 30 to earn flying. Takes just a few hours of play.

what’s wrong with exploring the zone in it’s beauty by flying?

I remember when we got Azeroth flying in cata and some of the best discoveries and hidden tidbits were found because of it.

I will never understand how the current team is still employed by at blizzard. Never seen a company allow its employees to up set /drive off on a constant basis of its paying customers. It usally they try to look like they care. Nope not this companyand still say it is weird.

proof? vanilla never had flying…
not to mention, you still can’t fly in the BE or dreanei areas.

yet how many millions still played the game?

I unsubscribed when BFA ended because I saw flying wouldn’t be available in Shadowlands on release.

You can, after a small wait. But if you enable flying right away, there’s no point exploring it on foot, and that removes the fun for those who like exploring this way, because doing that would leave you so much behind everyone else. Having a soft time-gate gets the best of both worlds.

So you are saying nothing else changed in the game in all those years? amazing!

flight is just an added luxury… nothing more. nothing less. anyone crying that they’re leaving the game because of lack of flying is lying about the real reason and just spouting off to showboat.

The great thing about flying is that it’s optional. The ground explorers can choose to ground explore and people who enjoy having flying, which they’ve learned how to do 7 different times now, can fly.

Anyone pretending to know why other people stop paying for a game is lying and just spouting off to showboat.

PS - in case it’s not clear, “anyone” is you.

Games are supposed to be fun. Ground mounts aren’t fun. Falling off cliffs and aggroing legions of mobs isn’t fun, but that’s what happens when a player just wants to get from point A to point B. Pulling a swarm of mobs, careening off a cliff, or being blocked by walls or mountains doesn’t add to the challenge of the game. It just makes the game tedious.

Flying is fun. It’s as simple as that. And constantly making players wait, pay, grind, or re-earn flying over and over again is insulting.

I agree, having to grind out all these stupid un-needed time gates is just getting boring. I would prefer they just focus on giving us more content, like loads more. Stop the systems, stop the stupid time gating, and give us more dungeons, more raids, more single player content. All shadowlands was one time gated system after another, this is not the mmo I started playing in 2004.

First expansion pack. First. There was literally only 1/8th of its life where there was not flying in it.

That’s a good way to get a monkey paw result where every mana current is equivalent to the atrocious ones in Ala Mhigo

Honestly, I’d be okay with no flying in certain areas, if only they’d stop putting treasures or profession mats in high places that we can’t reach - on account of some invisible force constantly pushing us down, when we try to climb to them.
