Impressions of MW in Midnight Alpha

The true utility of conduit for me has always been CDR and maximizing it and playing around it. Through sheiluns and conduit itself. The current tier set has expedited that process in a way that I find really nice but removed some of the skill expression in maximizing this buff.

Press button ever 1.5 min for decent dmg and healing

I have used conduit to do damage but it’s only ever something I do because it’s a thing to do. It is not the point of the ability for me. For me it is everything else it does. Cooldown reduction, damage reduction, movement speed. It’s a lot of personal utility in one button.

I like fist weaving but spamming tiger palm isn’t the epitome of skill if the point is to be insulting over my preference for conduit or opinion about MoH. That is even additive to the entire “you put dot on thing then spam SCK,” now you just press tiger palm. If that’s what you like then I’m glad it suits you. But for me that is not fun and I’d rather see it replaced with shadowpan.

I do not. I want conduit to be equally tuned and viable with MoH for raid, pvp, m+. I think it should be or else talents are not playstyles or choices but the illusion of choice with one best path (which unfortunately the DF-TWW talents have been a lot of times.) Even in s1 when conduit was considered just objectively bad for MW, I still played it anyway in m+ and timed some 15s with it. And when people would tell me dance of chiji or conduit was bad, I would tell them “I appreciate that you are trying to be helpful but this is the way I like to play the game.” I actually said that to Oreo in SV one time.

As long as CJL existed as it has, there was nowhere for them to go with this spec. I wrote that in s1 and I’m glad to see it manifested into something. When almost all your burst healing, damage, and gap between cooldowns is just this one ability then you generally just play around this ability. It doesn’t feel conducive to mw play style that is focused on instant casts, mobility, and melee uptime, to be standing still channeling a ranged damage ability. Even conduit gives freedom of movement while channeling. It is quality of life for a lack of range but I would sooner rather have rushing wind kick if RWK was like “you fly at the target and kick them in the face”

By your own admission in being a solely conduit player you are getting that choice lol. You’ve pushed pretty high each season playing conduit so I think that’s a pretty clear indicator of the choice you want. You’ve pushed are choosing the conduit play style and achieving and pushing keys despite not playing the more preferred hero talent. I’d personally hope thy keep this theme going for mw in midnight. But that’s just me. As of right now moh dmg isn’t looking too strong and is looking like you just take conduit in all situations which I think is a truely disappointing.

Yes I choose to do that against the devs wishes. You are correct. I can also choose to play blind folded without cds on keybinds using voice to text input for movement and targeting (while blind folded.) It would be fun but I don’t know if it would work. If it did work 1 in 500 times though that must mean that it’s a viable choice, yea? If that analogy makes sense. I am mostly thinking about s1 though when there was no semblance of tuning parity between the 2 hero talents in m+.

I really just want them to both be tuned to attain the same numbers regardless of target count or scenario. I don’t want to be playing handicapped all the time. If they can do that going for mw in midnight then we can both be happy. Admittedly, I would be happier if they added Shadowpan.

I want to be a shadowpan fist weaver so bad. Chiji grant me one final blessing, give me the strength to kill the opposition with one thousand punches in 1 second, thanks. I’ll call it “Fist of Blood Mist.” And everyone in the party will be so overjoyed with healing that they break down crying and /target aoibhinn /clap.
