Definitely enjoying WoW currently.
The “fantasy side” of WoW has always been kinda stuck in this weird late 90s “rule of cool” place that I’ve never really been a big fan of. And to be very clear, that “rule of cool” seems to be something like a 12 year old’s idea of “cool”. That’s how I view WoW’s story beats and character/gear aesthetics, typically.
I don’t think that’s really changed. Vanilla/Classic has more low fantasy stuff simply because that’s where low level characters are. Even Classic has the fancy over the top armor sets at the top end. There’s just less of it comparatively since it’s only at the top.
But then every expansion brings a new “top” so it adds up and now there’s just as much fancy stuff as there is mundane stuff.
immersion, and wow With all the stupid pop culture references in this game
they did pretty good with cinematics this xpac which helps with the immersion imo
I love the dragon riding. I’m not so much into the riding contests but it’s a blast flying them from place to place. I’m getting pretty good at the short hops to get you up cliffs and over spots you don’t want to fight through.
I wasn’t crazy about the green dragon zone. The centuars were kind of obnoxious and the walrus zone was OK. At least they had soup.
I liked the blue and bronze dragon zones. Kalecgos and Chromie are really good characters.
I am my character, so yea… I played HC and got bored after a couple hours.
