I will never understand how people have this superiority complex because they play a certain game vs what others play. Good lord get over yourself. Classic is only being played a lot because there isn’t anything better atm.
Let’s make a hypothetical situation real quick. Imagine the populations of all the classic servers if Blizz released wrath servers. Classic server populations would decrease considerably.

I’m considering subbing specifically for Classic, but I also enjoy playing retail. If I had to pay for the individual games, I’d probably not sub at all. There’s nothing at all wrong with having both games under one subscription. Blizzard can sure as sh!t tell who’s subbing specifically for Classic based on play time per account and other such things.
I’ve been enjoying the game, but $15/month for classic is a ripoff. At least with vanilla you knew that money was going into further development for the game. With classic there will be no further improvements or changes to the game. All the content that’s coming is content we saw 15 years ago. They don’t even seem to have proper customer support for classic based on the posts I’ve seen here.
I think you should play what you enjoy. Classic/retail makes no difference to me, but I have not enjoyed retail since WoTLK. There are plenty of Classic players who would not play BFA if they could play it for free, just like there are plenty of retail players that will never play classic. There are certainly plenty of people currently playing classic that will play retail as they release more content.
If they released wrath servers today I would likely play it instead of classic, but if they released shadowlands today I would likely play classic (though shadowlands looks more promising than recent releases).
homey, sometimes all Retail needs is a short restart and maintenance and sometimes it needs longer downtime for updates. Classic got some updates today and needed extra down time to accommodate it. They’re not griefing us.

There’s no “apparently” needed here. Classic is infinitely better than the current retail version of WoW.
that’s your opinion. though you guys kind of messed yourselves over with #nochanges so no classic+. tbc will likely be an entirely separate server. so even if it does come out you’ll have to reroll and lose all classic progress. at least with retail i know that no matter what, until the game is down, that my toons matter. they’re not throwaways like classics will ultimately be. i’ve said for ages in this forum that rerolling alts gives classic tons of content (the same way it does in retail) but i’ve been told that people would rather quit than reroll. what exactly is your plan after naxx is on farm? do you think spamming AV to rank is going to keep most people playing?
Classic prob had lots of bugs to squash where retail didn’t. Plus it’s already up so wasn’t 8 hours…

Doubt they will force you to start over, there will either be transfers or some other system in place. Just because it’s separate servers doesn’t mean they don’t have options to get your character there.
