Would still have same problem of people expecting others to transfer off of their server that is the key mindset that stops free transfers from working.
So basically, for transfers to work there has to be incentive aside from low/no queues. That’s tough, I have no idea what incentives could be offered that wouldn’t turn the new server’s economy upside down.
Exactly. Blizzard is in a tough spot cause they want happy customers but they don’t want to force people to play on specific servers
I dont think classic is going to shink, so I dont think they will be dead. But I guess we will see.
Only people with low iq will transfer to dead servers. It’s like natural selection where smarter players will enjoy their high pop server with low to no Q while others will end up on dead servers…
500 concurrent players is dying
Enjoy your queues. Don’t complain when you chose not to transfer.
Realm transfers ruin new servers every server is it’s own world, with its own economy, and progression. Transfers disrupt all of that.
imagine being encouraged to reroll on a new server by blizzard only for them to allow transfers from your old server 4 days later
What orifice did you pull that number out of.
All it means is that the number of people that rerolled was too low.
we’re medium pop and growing, that’s more than vanilla realms. unnecessary to make us full for the sake of it, just means more queues and transfers when they remove layers.
I’m curious to see how this affects Herod’s faction balance, I ran a Census during prime time several times over the weekend on both sides and it seems theres a concurrent 12k horde to 7k alliance, which isnt too bad considering its a PVP realm and those are usually HEAVILY horde favored.
the one you’re thinking of
Imagine being the guy to stay on Herod and wait hours to play the game and be totally at the mercy of his internet connection.
Now imagine being the guy who left a similar realm early and joined a medium population server, only for it to fill with no longer than 40min queues.
One is stuck in queue for three more hours while the other plays, both with the same population.
Imagine being so terrified of a realm with an actual Vanilla population, instead of the private server 8k-10k abominations, that you wait 8 hours in queue every night.
Imagine rerolling on a new realm grinding to get ahead, and then a transfer character just smashes you.
Imagine not realizing that that 10k queue will turn into a healthy no queue High pop server when everyone quits and the high/medium no queue servers now will be low and sad realms later
Imagine being the guy who said layering would be gone by phase 2. LOL
You mean a Blizzard dev ? For many that is a dream job that they have imagined.
