Imagine being an artist

We DON’T want this garbage.

You don’t speak for everyone, so cut it with the ‘we’ BS. Speak for yourself.

Right, like these artist aren’t busy working on this expansion, the next expansion and content to come.

Pretty sure people have been shouting “The artists and sound creators are carrying this game”.

Isn’t that appreciation?

The artists don’t get a dime of what folks spend on the store mounts/cosmetics. lol

Heck, most of them are probably salary.

Trash looking cash tmog will get no pity

Blizz backpeddling because they lost money from people refunding. Gotta recoup with de fairy mog lmao.

Don’t you know that Blizzard is going into the art community and finding that one artist that hasn’t been given a break yet to make their dreams come true??

My sweet summer child public criticism is never asked for but it will always be given. People might not like it but it’s all a part of being an adult . There are several choices on how to deal with it.

You can cry about it which a lot of people here would say this thread is.

You can go screw it what do these people know and ignore it or you re-evaluate the situation and go ok maybe this isn’t a lot of people’s cup of tea and realize that people just have different tastes and go that’s ok .

Being a Artist of 35+ years; I imagine it is even more frustrating that the Artists have to work within the confines of a really outdated engine that only allows so many pixel triangles.

Yet you alone do…? Just clarifying.

Artists getting little recognition or nobody appreciating their work isn’t the problem.

The industry being flooded with artists is the problem. There are so many artists there is a reason that their commissions are being sold at $20 for 40 hours worth of work.

While I commiserate with the OP about someone seeing their work slammed as garbage, I’ll just point out two things:

  1. Artists throughout history have had to deal with other, far less talented people, calling their work crap. The exceptions are few. People pretty much immediately and universally acknowledged that Rembrandt was amazing. Same for Titian.

  2. Of the few positive things you do see on these forums, the art and music are held in pretty high regard.

And you do?

Fun fact:

Avtivision started out as a bunch of atari game designers that wanted to be credited and receive royalties on the games production and atari disagreed. They left atari, formed activiision and started making games

Rest is history.

Funny how so many people have this opinion of a company whose sole purpose is to give us something to make our lives more enjoyable. The more profit gaming companies make, the more new gaming companies will spring up to compete.

I’m all out of dislikes for this topic. I don’t like the costumes (Yeti or Fey Dragon), I think they look dumb, but I also think blizzard did nothing wrong releasing them and everyone can be an adult and let others look however they want. /rant off

I must be a horrible person then, because I have no problem with saying that BfA raid sets looked terrible for the most part. Maybe they should create better art next time. Mad props to those responsible for zone design though, I bet they don’t get paid enough for the wonderful job that they do.

You’re joking right? They get paid a flat wage I’m sure. Unfortunately it’s probably not a ton but I guarantee you they’re not getting any kind of commission off of sales. That’s not how giant companies work. That’s how independent artists work.

Secondly you’re completely missing the point of the complaints. The artists in this game do great work and they get a ton of praise for their in game stuff. The point is this thing should have been an in game mog. It’s pure greed by activision and they are pocketing every dime while they close european offices. Video game profits are very healthy right now, not one dime of this is going to some artist.

Thirdly… We’ve been asking for class sets back for ages. They cut down how many mogs we get every tier by a drastic amount (not to mention the quality of a lot of bfa ones were questionable at best). Then they release this as a micro transaction as a mog that has as much detail if not more than any other in game mog.

Well that’s a you problem. You’re taking offence to something that isn’t directed at you or artists in any way shape or form.
