Just stop playing. It’s not exactly a sunk cost fallacy because you have actually already paid, but it’s quite silly to keep playing something you’re not enjoying. There are other things in life than videogames, and if you’re struggling to find them that’s an even better reason to take a rather long break.

I’m finding the game extremely boring now. I thought leveling up my alt Spriest and getting catch-up gear for her would keep me going but I find that boring as well. I played the entire TBC classic and was never bored. The game is a disaster now compared to those days. I should have let my sub expire yesterday but didn’t and now regret it.

Follow your instinct. If you’re bored, break. It’s not rocket surgery. You will come back when you don’t feel that way. Or you won’t.

They’re just standard abilities, though.

The issue people had with SL abilities was that they were tied to covenant, renown, etc.

It’s pretty normal to take long breakes from wow

I skipped shadow lands and am having a blast with Dragonflight

Yeah the fun ones are, but so what? It’s not like they’re locked behind a ridiculous grind or anything anymore. The abilities weren’t the problem. The Covenant system was.

There’s no borrowed power in DF.

I wish we could at least get a glyph to change their appearance. The Hunt on a demon hunter does not match. Make it green fel fire, and I’m happy.

And I like spear of bastion! extra rage and free crits. Though it’s a bit of a troll in Sanguine weeks sometimes . . . sorry tanks . . speer go brrrr

I’m stealing that, almost missed it!

Never buy large subscription blocks. NEVER! You guys are suckers for saving a small amount of money by doing it. I do month by month. When I grow tired, I can easily walk away without worry of loosing the extra subscription time. I don’t know why you guys treat this game like an old marriage unable to separate yourselves from it when you grow tired of playing it.

Sounds like your problem is with Shadowlands at an emotional level. Just seeing those abilities in the game seem to trigger you, even if they’re no longer tied to the covenant system and are just regular abilities now.

I wish all the covenant powers were still here. I miss Kyrian priest.

It almost sounds like a Rickyism to me, but it’s not rocket appliance right?! Almost as easy as getting two birds stoned at once.

Dragonflight would have been alot better had they taken anything from shadowlands out. Talents, spells, anything from shadowlands.

Problem is nothing compares to WoW, f2p or subscription games. They are still the mmokings

Op, I would consider it a rite of passage you go through it to learn something different and still come out learning something new again.

It may not take an entire year to feel better. After a nice, say, 3 month break, Dragonflight might not feel so bad anymore. Or perhaps when you come back you want to just focus on achievements and collecting in old content for a little while until the itch to scope out the max level stuff hits you?

Either way, I hope you find a cozy place to get your daily dose of escapism soon, be it in WoW or elsewhere.

I like my druid’s convoke, tyvm

Make a level 10-11 twink. They’re insane right now and have a sort of gear progression to kill time with between WoD WF gear, BC 2-3 socket gear, and trinkets like the HoV speed trinket and the Plaguefall slime trinket. That’s what I’ve been doing for the last few weeks since I’m not interested in current endgame.

(Though I’ll probably revisit it when we get a real content patch)
