I'm starting to reevaluate my decision to keep playing

yeah…you have to love hypocrisy regardless.

If you can’t beat them, join them.

Just troll the trolls

Well if Millennials are playing MMOs then it shouldn’t be a dying genre. Millennials are in their late 20s to early 40s so they should be around for a while.

If individual titles are seeing less players, more likely it’s because there are so many more choices now than there were back 20 years ago so the MMO players are spread out over more games.

WOW dead?

The number of Millennials in existence has capped, so the only direction to go is down as a result of growing disinterest, time limitations, or deaths.

Maybe you just need a long break.

I don’t think it’s a dying genre, I think it’s always been a niche genre that only appeals to a specific kind of person.

What happened is through a combination of innovation, timing and luck, WoW broke through into mainstream culture and blew up and everyone thought that was the new norm when in reality it was just an anomaly. Now mmos have faded back into their niche role and some people think it’s a dead genre, but there will always be a core audience for it.

Lol, if you’re enjoying the game play. If not or it’s digging into real life then quit. Don’t need to have AA posts letting everyone know you’re out the door. If you circumstances change and you get the itch later just sub and play again.

Frivolous moderator policing actually caused me to put a pause on my subscription for Feb-March.

This game is so-so atm and the actions taken against me have caused me to actually explore very thing that the forum moderators punished me about.
I have been having a lot of fun there.
So, ty for that I guess.
If WoW retail becomes more attactive in the future i may continue my subscription before TheWarWithin.
weʻll see.

/wave and /WAVE again in capitals… bye felicia!

If you find that, and the game is fun and full of people, you call us, kay?

Sure, but the numbers I saw talked about the most popular for a particular generation. It doesn’t preclude others from playing. For example, I’m a boomer, a real one, who played Colossal Cave Adventure on a Data General Eclipse but when I was older and WoW came along I started playing.

Lost cause equals, “if you don’t believe you get your money’s worth, then done.” However,
if you are looking for someone to debate why you should stay, I’m here for you. Its okay to let go, but not want to. Its also ok to stay and just, play.

And yet you keep playing. :grimacing:

I think you may be missing an important factor and that is that the economy is in trouble.

Not just in the US but everywhere. So when you see games, entertainment, other non-vital services being affected then that’s more a sign of troubled times rather than any one or several persons’ direct fault.

The medical industry is also being affected in a negative way and it’s beginning to show so it’s not just non-vital services.

Anyway, I think we have some tough times ahead but it won’t last forever.

I hope you find what you’re looking for. Happy trails and all.
Be well.

Hey, if you don’t find WoW fun anymore. Don’t play. No fault in that. I recently took a week off and replayed God of War. Stepping away can be good. Clear the mind. Sometimes you come back. Sometimes you don’t. Either way. Enjoy your time doing whatever makes ya happy, as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else.

This.

Also, social media in it’s current form won’t last. It’s already changed and not for the better for the most part.

As this becomes more apparent more and more people will start to look for other ways to socialize and mmos will be able to provide that, providing they don’t do the same dumb things some other social media sites are now doing.

well no need to make a grand theatrical post about it. Just leave. I myself have been getting bored lately. I dont plan to make an “I QUIT!!!” post about it. I will probably go on hiatus until season 4 when the fated raids come back.
