The irony lmao
Impossible to watch if Rich is on the cast.
It’s been a great GSL to watch the past couple weeks with those two.
The second Rich turns his stream on he goes into profanity laced rants about how bad the game is, how terrible the meta is, how incompetent the devs are, etc. I personally think those criticisms are valid and that he’s an entertaining caster, but from a PR perspective they probably wouldn’t mind finding a replacement for him
the dude that has a blizzcon win has no idea whats going on?
What makes you feel this way?
I really believe he’s one of the most insightful casters on the desk. Not only does he provides valid opinions and backs them up with reasoning, he’s also very straightforward and isn’t completely biased. His commentating speed/pace is quite impressive too especially during clutch moments or when there’s so much happening that it gets tough to track everything down with your eye. I honestly think he’s a wonderful fit for casting these tournaments and provides electrifying comments/remarks during the right situations.
I got nothing against these guys, I truly wish them all the best. But as constructive critcism, they truly are not good casters.
Although, I do enjoy DotA2 quite a bit and must admit they do have some pretty good panels.
Venruki feels like watching a bank teller play wow. His heart just isn’t “in it” anymore and you can clearly tell he’d rather be hiking or outside doing something. Feels more like a temporary job.
Supatease is pretty “cringe” for my taste, (I know, i hate that word too) but I understand that can liven up the place from time to time. He just seems to struggle with “wanting to tell it how it is” but his bosses tell him to only say nice things about the game.
He gets ignored a lot by the other casters because they don’t want to say the wrong thing, which I understand, but that adds a lot of awkward moments to watching the game.
Ziqo seems like a cool guy, but doesn’t have the voice for it, lol. Voice casting is a thing, and definitely part of it. Seems like a cool enough guy, but his voice isn’t “catchy” enough.
In Venruki’s defense, all the games are going into dampening. This isn’t just this season, there’s always some trinket and healer that allows this to happen.
Unfortunately for this season of pro play there’s vitality conduit and lingering psychic cd. Both have disgustingly low cd times.
Wait, he did that?
Was he trying to burn bridges with Blizzard?
Yeah hes ranted on the shxtty rng systems that was all hate, I think from a professional pov it’s a bit of a PR liability, but I support him either way.
Companies shouldn’t be shielded from criticism from their own employees, but it’s up to their discretion on how to deal with it.
i think he is soild, not sure why you think that way. knowledgeable, good timing, seems ok to me.
Supatease is ok. Has really dumb opinions sometimes and will be talking about talent choices as people are dying or stuff is happening. I like Ziqo, he’s enthusiastic and knows a lot. Rich is actually MVP. When it’s not hour 10 of MLX bangers he’s really talented. Ven is the worst to me. Seems bored 80% of the time and you can tell he gets annoyed at Supa a bunch.
But then again some of these 8 hr sessions must be absolutely brutal to cast.
arguably best caster
garbage cringey person though
Bring this down please…
Don’t touch my colorful casters.
Supa is an insane caster and has been carrying the play by play cast since he joined
I actually think he shot casts pretty well.
I mean if you want to make the argument that someone who plays tank on ladder should be banned from an awc cast job that’s fair.
But he does a good job letting you know whats going on in the match.
Remove Rich 2020 Make AWC bearable again
It isn’t any specific time. I just can’t stand how he has a tendency to question the pro-players’ character or map select. He also consistently says a team has lost before the match even starts. It seems like it’s just me though, so I hope he stays if everyone else likes him.
The only thing I dislike about Supa is his high-pitched howl or whoop when something happens and he is in secondary caster mode. It’s a new level of cringe.
He’s dragging down their whole production, him and Ziko… blizzard can’t afford decent casters? Bajeeera? Swifty? Asmond? Trainwreck?
There’s probably like 10 people on the planet who can rapidly call out what’s happening at the pace people use abilities in WoW arenas, deciding what’s important to call and what’s not and keeping the flow up for 10-15 minutes of continuous gameplay (i.e. this isn’t like league where team fights only last short durations, players are legit on top of each other performing PvE rotations for 10+ mins in certain games). Supatease is one of them, and honestly he’s insane at his ability to keep pace even with really fast games.
I think the casters must have been told at some point when they were doing a lot of jokes & memes to fill the gaps that they took it too far. Recently I’ll sometimes feel they’ve overshot going the other direction which is to be much more serious & analytical between games. In arenas there’s really only so much “breakdown” you can really do. Overall though Bajheera, Swift, Asmon & Trainwreck, of what I’ve seen, could not even keep close to casting like Supa. Great hype guys and bring a ton of humor but not A+ tier shoutcasters for live-game commentary.
