Whoever handled the elf quests esp in Darkshore should be shamed.
It’s a complete trainwreck of a zone. Stonetalon Harpies are cake compared to a cave of naga that have a aoe knock up and casters who can heal 90% of their health.

That’s because they threw Kalimdor together at the last minute. You ever notice that half the zones are basically unfinished wrecks, that are either pretty, and devoid of more than a few quests (Azshara) or full of quests, but literally empty as can be (Barrens, Durotar, Desolace, Tanaris…). I swear, it feels like Feralas, Felwood, and Azurvale are the only ‘finished’ zones on the continent.

The cave is fairly mild compared to the escort quest with elite rocks pummeling your npc to death.
The loch has the elite area too, but it’s the only teens quest I know of that gives Mail shoulder quest rewards.

Felwood is just rehashed Darkshore quests. Fight Satyr. Cure the corruption by filling 9058604986459068 vials. Go into caves of fast spawn enemies etc.

Not Kalimdor obviously, but in Swamp of Sorrows there’s an escort quest where the NPC just casually strolls through entire hostile Draenei camps like it’s perfectly fine.

Maybe. I leveled in the Eastern Kingdoms for the most part. Only reason I’m bothering with Felwood is for Timbermaw rep.

darkshore is the best leveling zone for alliance in that range. it’s REALLY good

I love the Elf zones but holy crap those furbolg caves? Hate them. Hate every single one of them. Especially the one on Teldrassil, and double especially the one in Ashenvale that’s full of disappearing Forsaken. Ugh.

All of Kalimdor is horrible. It always has been. I actively avoid questing there beyond what is absolutely necessary for certain leveling items or cross-continent chains.
Yikes, I guess that I should be thankful that I chose to play a Human Warrior! I’d of been disappointed had I experienced that. 
Have you ever done Darkshore on retail? The terrain is horrible. All the roads are broken and the road maintenance department in Stormwind is still sitting with their thumbs up their whatever instead of building bridges.

Only on the Alliance side of Kalimdor. Horde has it very good in Kalimdor compared to Alliance in general.

Cross content questing is a problem imo. That’s why I praise Cata when they “revamped” the world. Boo me all you want, but the areas are lacking in classic compared to cata. And cata atleast helps give you a direction ALL the time, classic doesn’t, by default. You have no way of knowing that the person upstairs has a quest for you.
Plus cata brought in all the QoL that people are using now for addons. Talk about being a hypocrite. /shrug

But that’s the appeal of Classic. It doesn’t treat it’s players like children and hold their hand everywhere they go, some players are fed up with games today that treat them like they can’t do things on their own. The point of Classic is exploration. If you have the mind to explore you would have found those quest givers.

for a very small portion, a LARGE PORTION of players are playing with addons. I didn’t use addons for a month and a half since launch. But I am doing WAY better compared to when I first played. SO that experience BS you throw out there is not true, at all. You can even have cata+ class experience and still play way better then what we all had to go through.
