I'm ready for a new MMO from Blizzard, without Activision

It’s true, it’s all Blizzard and I happen to love this expansion. But I’ve been around long enough to know people have been raging the forums for literally forever

This is not true at all actually, because as I pointed out in the very part you quoted, you will still rip through any enemy you encounter if you outlevel an area, and you’ll do so much faster than someone who is at the level that the zone is intended for, because despite the fact that you are scaled down, you’re always scaled down to the point where you’re at least a minimum of two levels above the enemies you’re fighting, although practically speaking because of the stats granted to you by your gear and the bonuses granted to you by your traits, enemies die much faster than they otherwise would. The only enemies that prove to be troublesome are elite enemies and champion enemies, which are designed for groups to fight, not solo players.

the companies merged. do you believe no one from blizzard moved to the board of activision-blizzard when that happened? the merged and the investors and board members of blizzard were all like “nope, we will just sit back and let you handle everything”

there is no blizzard without activision. they are the same company, owned by the same people.

there is no blizzard without activision. they are the same company, owned by the same people.

No they are not.

See above.

Nice name /sarcasm.

Here are the facts though:

  1. Yes there was a merger, but no, it was not between Blizzard and Activision. Despite the name ‘Activision-Blizzard’ the merger was actually between Activision and Vivendi, the company that owned Blizzard prior to the merger.

  2. Because the merger was not between Activision and Blizzard, no one from the Blizzard leadership joined the Board of Directors for Activision-Blizzard.

  3. Part of the merger ensured that Blizzard Entertainment was granted full autonomy and was able to run independently, outside of Activision-Blizzard’s corporate influence. This independence has been maintained for over 10 years, with Tom Chilton and other Blizzard staff members confirming as much.

This is what people wont believe…despite facts to the contrary.

I see threads like this and can’t help but ponder why this mentality exists. Its on the same level as the threads that ask for Ion to be fired because a portion of the community thinks he has 100% control of every decision in the game (when its not true)

What do you honestly think Blizzard has to gain from leaving Activision and why do yall seem to think its as easy as just walking away? Just like Ion, it feels like you guys are just aiming your general frustration at a target.

What happens if Blizzard were able to split from Activision and if nothing changes? Does the argument change to “Activision already destroyed/corrupted Blizzard, they should have left sooner!”???

There is no singular “big bad” no matter how much you guys may want one. Its not Ion, its not Activision, the “issues” that yall have with Blizzard are more complex and not so simple and specific as to just paint one entity as “The Problem”

You and me both.

Threads like this exist because of the belief that Activision is the reason Blizzard decides to cut cost which has led down this path of a hollow game compared to what it used to be.

I was disappointed when D3 turned out to be a watered down D2. I was really hoping for a Diablo mmo. They could keep the story just give me a 3rd person mmo, more then 5 people, Diablo please.

I also was hoping they would make a WoW 2 that had Azeroth being destroyed so we had to go through a portal to another world. Perfect way to change the story, lore, races, graphics, etc.

I’m ready for the current mmo I like to play since forever to get a very good revision without twists and turns following cutting corners around every design choice :-).

That’s a Community Manager, managing the community.

Won’t happen ever.

That’s a Community Manager, managing the community.

Yes thats his job.

Its also the truth.

If you believe that I have a bridge to sell you

If you believe that I have a bridge to sell you

i dont have to “believe” it as I know how corporations work, I have already looked at the corporate structure in question.

To restate Carhagen’s points

  1. Yes there was a merger, but no, it was not between Blizzard and Activision. Despite the name ‘Activision-Blizzard’ the merger was actually between Activision and Vivendi, the company that owned Blizzard prior to the merger.

This is the reality.

It exists. It’s called World of Warcraft.

Didn’t they even refer to this next tier as a Season 2?

Of course it is. Because you say it is, and you believe it because a Blizzard employee posted it as part of his job to manage the community. PR probably isn’t part of his job description at all.

I just want Warcraft without Activision; if they are the problem. :frowning:

I don’t want a new game.
