…They can though?
I have a guardian druid that has her main weapon transmogged into the Legion Fist weapons. Then I carry around a random staff for when I’m not in bear form.
Unless you are talking about something else.
I don’t want to cover up my scythe and transmog it into an ugly fist weapon.
A 110 druid equipping the Claws of Ursoc does not have the option of using Legion appearances earned by another alt. the option is greyed out.
Staves or polearms are not available in Legion content, even if I wanted to equip a grossly inferior weapon in order to pretend I was using it.
You are a 120. I don’t have the option of using the weapons that you have access to. Do you expect me to use a wod staff or something instead of a real weapon?
I shouldn’t have to equip and unequip my weapon dozens of times a day in order to be able to use appearances I earned in legion, that are supposed to be usable by alts.
I don’t know what to tell you then. You have the option to have a scythe with you in your bags when you are not fighting.
Its the exact same as my Fiance, whom is a rogue.
He likes the subtlety weapon, but he hates the spec. He prefers assassination. So he carries around another set of weapons so he can switch to subtlety when he’s not in combat so he can have the weapons showing.
My Guardian druid was able to transmog her weapon at 110. So I’m not sure what youre on about. The forms I have earned on this toon have also transferred over to her, as I never bothered to earn owlcat on any toon except this one… yet my alt has access to it. I would suggest opening a ticket or something if you’re having trouble accessing the transmog stuff. I know I had trouble at first trying to figure out how to get my Bear form artifact look on my alt to work correctly at first.
I can agree that Balance should get some more options.
The reason the form Worgen can’t be the feral druid form is because of lore reasons. You may not agree with it but that is the reason.
What lore reasons? Pack form is a Druid form.
And you can still use Bear form as a Feral.
This is one of the reasons I can’t roll a Druid. The customisation is absolute trash. There needs to be at least 20-30 glyphs per form for me to even bother considering it. Instead, they give 1 decent one (warebear) and lock it away after a limited time. Absolutely retarded idea.
I am glad that they made it so you don’t ALWAYS have to be in tree form like in days long past. That Ent was UGLY lol but fun.
Pack form is still different from feral and even if druids could use the pack form you wouldn’t be using the feral abilities.
Does it matter if it is technically a different form? you can still use bear from as feral and cat form as guardian. And at the end of the day, this is a video game. You could easily spin the lore because they are worgen, they are only druids becuase of that fact.
Pack Form is dangerous.
The short version is that when the Burning Legion first invaded, the Night Elves called upon the Scythe of Elune, which was created from one of Goldrin (Big wolf Wild God) fangs, and the staff of Elune. This created the Pack form, and those Night Elves that transformed turned into Worgen, wolf-like beasts. They had 0 control over themselves and lost to their most primal instincts. While yes, they did kill many of the invaders, they also killed many of their friends in their uncontrollable rage. Those friends whom were attacked were effected by a terrible curse, which turned them into raging, mindless Worgen as well. It got out of hand REALLY fast. Malfurion was forced to banish these Worgen, despite them being friends and family, to the Emerald Dream.
There’s a lot more on the lore, which I do highly suggest reading up on. But this is why we do not get Pack form. In WoD, We even see that one of the Arch Druids, Hammul himself, state that he was uneasy with the idea of us being able to turn into Saberon. The flavor text, which most talents dont have, said “Have we learned nothing from the Scythe of Elune?”
This just further drives in the fact that the incident with the Worgen and Pack form was REALLY REALLY bad. Like, super bad. Something that no one wants to have a repeat of.
I know all about what happened with the pack form and how it came about, but the Worgen curse is essentially pack form, we are already in pack form. And like those in pack form, we originally couldn’t control our primal instincts. Thanks to Krennan Aranas and later the wells of Tal’doren we can.
I’ve been wanting a similar system to what Hunters have had since the beginning. Where we can go out, and in a way, “capture” or “learn” a new form. I think that would keep things very interesting for any druid players wanting a new look. I do agree, we are in form quite a bit, but there are still times where we aren’t. Either way, I think if Blizzard added a system like Hunters have, many people would quite enjoy it.
They could simply allow us to have a quest or spell to change our model to other models already in game. Maybe just slightly modify them with some armor or something:
Rhinos
Hippos
Dinosaurs
Etc.
Would be great to have options like Hunter stables to pick different forms. Each could come with some an extra skill modifier.
For some reason Blizzard is really against customization. There is so much potential in WoW for player expression, especially with Druids.
Imagine if you could make your animal form look like anything from WoW (within reason), such as Cat form appearing as the Silvermoon sabers, or even a Raptor. Bears looking like rinos or gorillas.
Or even taking the idea of the Astral glyph, and applying it to Feral/Guardian, with spectral animal form animations instead of turning into an animal.
People seem to think that Druid is only a shapeshifting class. They really need to play DnD sometime. Druids are basically nature wizards. You don’t have to shapeshift at all. Druids are connected to the world itself. Not just animals.
Think I might be sticking with Druid for the time being after all the Shadowlands announcements haha.
I wouldn’t bother with him. He gets new pet models to tame every other patch (while still being able to keep his xmog visible). He’s just choosing to be willfully ignorant.
The irony is that the rest of the WoW community thinks that Blizzard caters to us and gives us too much customization. But none of them take the time to think about the fact that we barely get to see our own transmogs and what we have to give up in order to change our animal forms appearances.
This was one expansion of customization that a) are mostly locked now and b) don’t pertain to particular race forms.
In case anybody missed it, in shadowlands druid shapeshift forms will be changeable in the barbershop. And they will not be spec linked.
I appreciate you actually counting up all the different (albeit slightly ) animal forms we have, excluding Moonkin. I’ve been wanting to do that for a while. That said, most of the forms you mentioned only have slight differences, such as the Tauren cat form having horns, troll cat form having tusks, etc. The troll cat form actually has really cool stripes but the colors are all off. It looks like they were going for a tiger theme but neglected to give them actual tiger colors, that being orange and black, but I digress.
It’s the same deal with the bear forms. Tauren has horns, Nightelves…don’t. Highmountain bears have antlers. So although we may have 118 different “forms”, most of them are just re-colors with slight variations. Furthermore, most of them are locked away to a certain race.
In conclusion, I do believe that we need more druid forms.
