I'm only 429 ilvl and I absolutely explode people as sub in battlegrounds

Lol not to you. They obviously were before  as has been pointed out by our pve friend dark pve gear has always been good in PvP. Yet people did arenas still? Then they completely gut PvP gearing. RNG bull with easily obtainable pve gear with insane procs and guess what participation dies.

If you don’t think rbg pops are any worse, please, do some number crunching.

Or we can keep going with all your “feels” lol

Here are some numbers from wod season 1-3 and the last one is current, all for 2200+. Season 2 has a lower number than now. Season 1 blew up and was huge, I’ll admit. Season 3 of wod has more than now, yes, but not by a staggering amount. Also shows how bad faction balance was in wod, but continue…

2200 + doesn’t really show the whole numbers of the season/expansion though. Some seasons have more inflation than others. The guy in the thread I linked went via r1 which is based off the % of the entire PvP population (he also used glad numbers because it was % based but it is no longer). Players above 2200 is a little arbitrary based on a number of things, not just population.

Definitely a fun fact… Astonishingly bad, like how even? Kinda funny for the no Merc crew though. People just migrate wherever the heck they think they have an advantage regardless of whether they can Merc or not.

Kinda reinforces the reality that people not doing rated anything if they see the advantage being in m+.

Wow okay. Shows a lot better than pvp is dead though. You can use the wayback machine and see a lot of info, just figured that is basically what they capped for shots. WoD was not really this saving grace people remember. Was there more participation? Sure, definitely a huge burst in s1.

And I was wrong about s1, that was including two regions. Only NA is:

Also, could you link this thread again? I tried checking your post history but I think it was a while ago you linked it.

If you’re so worried about destroying people why don’t you try rated pvp with said rogue and see if your “overpowered” gear “carries” you then.

Here is a good way to shut them up about s2. They are comparing middle of season 2 with end of current. So how about we compare end of current with end of s2 for wod https://web.archive.org/web/20151109213159/http://www.arenamate.net/

Thats 8k people above 2.2k more than the entirety of current season ladder

Again 8k is both regions.

And again both regions now is still under that, with na alone being higher than na current

Not sure why we are counting rank 1 pushers tbh. If there are people who only queue for rank rewards, do they actually count?

Super weird… Google “emergency arena participation” it’s the first thread that shows up for me. When I click on it though it just takes me to the general forum…

Big yikes lol

Because it’s the only way to actually show how many people are actually queing. 2200 is an arbitrary number that isn’t % based. Any number of people can achieve it if blizzard mixes up mmr or the seasons long or a number of other reasons.

R1 (and previously gladiator) is purely based off % of the population. So if there are more r1 players then there is a bigger general pop queing.

For top rankers, sure. But the casual players count as well. If we only show those who push for rank, kind of deceiving on who is actually enjoying arena through out.

Here is last season of mop, all ratings combined (though it’s basically 1800+)

4925 players.

Currently, we have 4994 for all ratings combined.

a month before bfa s1 ended:

5014 players

Let sigh  not sure what’s so hard to grasp about this concept…

In previous seasons all titles were handed out based on how high in the entire PvP population you were. % based. So there were seasons where I was 2100 and got duelist. There were other seasons where I couldn’t get over 1900 and still got duelist because blizzard nerfed mmr and there were less people.

Therefore rating shows absolutely nothing. What shows approximately how many people are playing are % based metrics. Doesn’t matter if r1 people are the try Harding people. What matters is how many r1 (or previously gladiators) people there are. Because if 5000 people got gladiator that would mean that the entire population, casual or not, equaled 100,000 people playing arenas in general. If 100, 000 people got gladiator it would mean 2 million people were playing arenas.

% titles wether they are try hard or not shows you the entire population of that season. Hence the guys math in the thread showing rated participation of legion was 5X smaller in what should have been it’s busiest season compared to the smallest.

Bleh math. It’s all relative as I say about gear :joy: %'s actually let you see the actual numbers. Ratings show jack.

Participation numbers also show a lot. Also that thread must have been from the old forums which is why it brings us to this one.

:expressionless:

That’s exactly what I’m saying… The r1 and old gladiator titles show you the actual participation numbers of the season as the titles are % of the population playing. It’s the only way to show the entire seasons population.

So did they completely remove the old forums? I was linking the old forum on these forums a couple times. Last week even.

The numbers on arenamate are 1800 maybe even 1900 players that are queuing.

this might help

edit correct link

numbers presented and as to why there were more glads previous season

Help with what?
