I have never role-played in World of Warcraft and probably never will, but…
Do you guys have some sort of tags system of some sort? maybe an add-on or something, maybe even a standard template to whisper to the rest? so you can make obvious for other parties involved what you are looking for in roleplay?
Roleplay is such a wide concept that being clear from the very start about what one expects from the roleplay and the limits for it should be essential.
Yes, there are a few addons that do this. The most popular is TRP3, which even enhances the character mouse-over review window to show RP information. You can list pretty much anything you like, in terms of player preferences…including the ‘romantic’ variety.
For this to work however, both you and the player character you are examining must have the addon. Fortunately, the different addons seem to work with each other.

If you aren’t interested in clear communication and agency over your story, you are going to have all sorts of different responses from all sorts of different people.
Yep! And OP doesn’t want to use the tools suggested to help for future issues.

I seriously doubt this. It’s funny that the only time you ever really see this claim is on the forum.
Same logic applies to restaurants. You aren’t going to complain to the waiter.
