Heartseeker…
That’s why people stop enjoying THE GAME itself. Just smell the damn roses some times

Click the number of 60’s for both Horde and Alliance. 7k (both factions) isn’t hugely over populated. Not when you take peak times into account
I played on Mordred, which was the PvP server in DAOC, i can guarantee you most pve content was unplayable, luckily you could level through pvp.
There was a reason it was 2 servers downed to one though, that style of play is largely unpopular. It’s why PvP servers in vanilla weren’t very popular either. Classic is hurting mainly because it’s blatantly obvious the amount of people who joined the pvp servers wouldn’t enjoy it, but more kept joining so wow kept opening more pvp servers. Not to mention without the honor system it gave people a taste of a psuedo pvp server, so they THOUGHT they actually liked the server, but in reality is was effectively just a PvE server. Not releasing the honor system from the get go was probably the largest mistake they could have really done for these servers, because now people are invested in their characters and rerolling is significantly less viable as a solution.
Not to mention WoW has always struggled with faction balance, because they only have two. Without artificial limiters, which they have never done for fear of subscription loss, it’s extremely unlikely you’ll have balance, and even less that the balance will maintain.
Personally, i would have made PvP servers an actual PvP server, where EVERYONE is flagged, and if you’re not in a group or guild, free game.
But #nochanges crew would never allow that, and I don’t think blizzard likes the idea of breaking faction unity.
On our server (Blaumeux), it went on for a whole week and a half…
A little bit of common sense dictates that if the world wasn’t designed to support an X amount of people then why put a population cap in the first place?
amazing i looked for the same thing. Saw the title, opened it and saw
“Orc Warlock”
I am shocked that someone that is on the winning side of what is almost certainly a heavily imbalanced population is enjoying it
It’s only a theoretical number, and this is really about player behavior.
And who told you that 7k is not overpopulated?

Hey, Orcasms… From another Biggles player
I agree there have been massively fun pvp battles all weekend, going back and forth. It does seem a bit slanted toward Horde, but I have seen lots off Alliance fighting back and forming death squads too. Having a blast!!
Good point, that would have prevented a lot of the backlash going on right now. And yeah I leveled the 50 on modred, it was definitely doable once you got used to the way of the world. it does take a certain type I guess, you just have to be on high alert and accept some dying. But really the horde/allies camping brm is flat out stupid and not what I consider PvP once it becomes 100% one sided. Its not even that bad on smolderweb for the record, but still a pain. I’m more going by word of mouth and videos posted of the high pop one sided realms
Same on alliance on a pvp server my level 60 lock has been having a great time as well. I came to a pvp server for pvp and I got what I wanted. Sure I get corpse camped. But for the times I get corpse camped I end up corpse camping people as well about the same amount of time. The people that are having a bad time should either go to retail or go to a pve server. It’s honestly plenty of fun right now.
Let’s go ahead a work in some small nip picking for of the fun of eh? I said not hugely overpopulated. Which is not anything like “not over populated”.
Add in the fact that Blizzard has never release population caps or intended populations for vanilla.
Then add in the amount of people that are not actively out wPvPing.
Yep, people over exaggerate the population’s impact. Seen people claim as high as 50k.
I wish I could transfer to (Bigglesworth). I would be fine with a small horde majority. I am held hostage on a server where Horde outnumber us 5 to 1. Blizzard needs to let me transfer or they will lose a subscription. Game is literally unplayable. Unless your idea of playing is being instantly killed at every flight point and zone. When dungeons are the safest places then there is a problem.
Definitely not 50k but surely more than 2k it seems.
Ok, let’s say that only half of that 7k is online. Let’s say that only 20-25% of them are lvl60. Come out to about 700 people for both factions. Decide it by the number of high level zones ans decide for yourselves if that’s large enough number to make pvp happen more often than one would like. And I’m not counting lvl 55+ who also get in high lvl zones. For some this might be low for some - high
“Sure I get corpse camped. But for the times I get corpse camped I end up corpse camping people as well about the same amount of time.” So by your own statements, it sounds like your server is balanced. NO ONE would have a problem with a balanced server. The complains are about server inbalance. You are a complete moron, and the whole argument seems to have gone over your head.
I’m constantly being berated with the “PvP server lulz” responses, but I DIDN’T EVEN CHOSE MY SERVER!!! My friends wanted to play on a PvP server and now I’m stuck here with no way out. My only options are to quit or leave my friends behind.
The thing is when we start pulling 100 vs 100 size battle. Lag becomes a big issue.
Have you seen that as a complaint on the forum? I have but so very infrequently it’s not really countable. The people complaining could be running a potato for a PC
It’s not about big battles. It’s about being able to get around the world without bumping into players every 30 sec.
That’s how I remember my experience back in the day. I was able to take in the world without checking the shoulder every time I cast a spell. Or I could go around and farm something I needed without fighting more than 2-3 people at the spot I was at.
This time when farming elemental fires at uncork I was lucky to have less than 5 at a time at any time of the day. Usually it was 5-6 allies and 1-2 horde
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes the reason is you’re stupid and make bad decisions
