I'm glad RDF isnt in the game. Thank you for hearing my voice Blizzard

No not you.

If the majority of the community cared about server identity and socialization, mega servers wouldn’t exist. The reality is people want to have a pool of players to play with and a thriving economy.

So people getting additional badges , a bonus satchel and, having your damage and HP buffed isn’t really a benefit?
You must be using a different definition of the word benefit than is in any dictionary anywhere.

Megaservers were enabled by blizzard intervening to allow people to prioritise those things over letting servers spread naturally. There’s nothing wrong with wanting those things you mentioned - but it’s also nobody else’s fault if your experience with pugs is so bad you don’t see any difference between adding LFG or not to social interactions. Adding another blizzard tool to fix the other problem they created allowing megaservers isn’t part of any meaningful solution.

Its outweighed by the loss of a social playstyle. If i wanted RDF id go play FFXIV and queu into savage raids 1 boss at a time with 7 other people.

I don’t like the idea but I can’t put my finger on why. I get that it’s trying to seek a balance between convenience and rewards but superficially it just seems like you’re moving the benefits to the playstyle that you prefer. I know this isn’t what you’re doing. Sorry not finding the way to communicate my idea here …

Rather than nerfing RDF rewards, which people are generally not going to like, maybe another approach is to reduce the degree of convenience? Like for example maybe queuing RDF requires a reagent.

personally for me this would invalidate what i like about the game, and if blizzard wants that its up to them to make that decision.

Megaservers were not created by Blizzard, they were created by the community. Your complaint is Blizzard didn’t stop people from playing how they want because its not what you desire. Stop trying to control everyone else’s experience. The tool doesn’t fix mega servers, and frankly I don’t think they need fixing. I quite enjoy my mega server and having people to actually do things and having a thriving economy.

No, megaservers were created by blizzard. Megaservers couldn’t exist unless they allowed far higher player caps than classic originally had. To add to this, they even incentivised using megaservers by adding shading and transfers. That’s not a player created issue.

I’m not trying to control your experience. You are trying to change the experience we are already having in the game by asking for it to be changed to accommodate you.

Atleast he admitted defeat. After this thread I saw him in another thread supporting RDF so long as it locked you out from the dungeons you did.

its almost like if we dont mind it being in the game we just dont want to be forced to use it imagine that.

  • Include an RDF tool for each server (still have “server identity” or whatever)
  • The “daily dungeon” or whatever is still just a quest (either gotten from a quest giver or dungeon entrance (whichever comes first))
  • Remove 5% buff or whatever
  • If you’d rather use the summoning stone, that’s your choice

There’s nothing else that needs to be capitulated for anti-RDF people. If RDF is effectively just a queued LFD tool, the only advantage is that random dungeons (that aren’t the daily) are probably faster to run if you use the RDF. Even then, what immersion is broken if your group of 5 guildies/friends/randoms just uses the tool to have a dungone selected for them? In the case of queueing for a specific dungeon, there’s legitimately no difference compared to LFD.

I am simply asking for a tool that existed for half of Wrath classic to exist again. If they said “sure we will add RDF to Wrath with ICC, as it was in the first iteration of the game” I would be all for it. Instead they say it will not exist ever and give an awful replacement for it. It’s completely turned me off from even trying to do dungeons with pugs. If my guild isn’t doing them I will just go solo farm in the world. This is the reason I switched from healer to DPS. So that I can still play the game and do things without needing to sit in Dalaran and look at stupid window or chat box.

id agree with this for dungeons yes.

to be fair ive created topics where i led with “id agree with either rdf realm only OR a cross realm LFD tool, but for me personally crossrealm rdf is a bridge too far.”

You arent entitled to this tho.

Yes, they’re public for all to see for WoW classic.

As I said originally I don’t mind it being added come ICC because that would at least be authentic. It’s not that I don’t understand your position or where you’re coming from - it’s just that my experience with pugs has been more positive and I enjoy the system as it is.

and how many accounts does your poll account for?

RDF only applies to dungeons lol…

I don’t think I am entitled to anything…I just wish Blizzard would stop catering to a handful of elitist that think they know what is best for everyone else. The statement that they are not adding RDF to the game has completely changed my outlook on the game and I find ways to only do things solo as much as possible. Swapping from priest to hunter was the first step. I have a gathering druid with epic flight form and when the 70 boost comes out, my alt profession army will be complete.

Hey man, those numbers if you aren’t aware aren’t actually the player base numbers. It’s just counting those that have parses.
