I'm glad RDF isnt in the game. Thank you for hearing my voice Blizzard

Yeah, I have no gripes on killing the buff. Realistically if RDF was shipped as just a queue version of LFD, that’d be phenomenal. It’s just painful to run anything besides the daily unless you’re willing to sit in LFD and spam /4. At least having an automatic “random dungeon” would keep people running content.

This reads like you talking to yourself on an alt

im very loathe to say id be okay with RDF shipping without “x” here because i believe blizzard would need to playtest and adjust it so it doesnt become defacto mandatory (or on the opposite end completely unused and not worth queuing into) and part of me doesnt think they’ll do it correctly. I def feel “safer” with the current stance, but i wouldnt mind if we could get even just near an equivilence of outcomes for the two options.

if you read his post history, it would be a pretty silly assumption, we disagree on a ton of stuff.

tldr: i like doing things the inefficient way and now i want everyone else to be forced to do it with me

IF you you kept the convenience of an auto queu system and nerfed the rewards so the effiency of pugging vs the efficiency of autoqueuing had the same end results in gear and badges / hour in /played, would you agree to it?

On the other spectrum, if not, would you agree to a non rdf nerf of heroics? what if they were balanced for 3 people? if you could have 2dps and a healer or 2 dps and a tank? but didnt neccesarily need a perfect grouping?so that it made it so you could def find a group for whatever you wanted whenever basically?

We will, the new RFD will be on Discord
It will exclude more than it includes.
There will be no social interaction in game.
You most effiecient path will be set up a dungeon spam event, invite the best geared tank and healer and 3 dps you have in the discord group, and talk to no one in the in game chat.
Failure to perform will remove that person from discord and throw them back into trade chat lfg hell.
Your welcome.

I so envy you

i editted my response to you as well to include the flipside i’d love if you gave it a thought

The rewards from RDF are a daily completion…it replaced the quests that already exist in the game lol.

im really out here spitballing ideas tho, did you read my response?

the rewards from rdf are normal dungeon rewards and badges at about 1.5x the pace if not higher id wager. Youd need internal playtesting to measure the differences in efficiency.

It would end up the de-facto resource for pugging even without the extra advantages, just because the raw convenience is an intrinsic benefit. I don’t think there’s any way around that.

As is there’s a weird situation where you’re a group of 4 looking for +1, and it’s literally harmful to your interests to go into LFG for that last slot. You get a 5% damage buff by clicking the dungeon finder button.

At least without those advantages there’s no downside to using LFG aside from RDF’s existence reducing the pool of players paying attention to LFG chat.

I’m also glad RDF didn’t make it into the game at least until the ICC patch drops. I know not everyone has been able to enjoy having a server social experience with recognisable faces for groups and making friends because they roll on a megaserver or don’t socialise - but I have and it’s one of the things I love the most about classic. I’ve made more friends in the three years of classic than in a decade of retail WoW.

The decline didn’t start in Wrath. It started in Cata.

But that’s besides the point. Sure, people have said that those features were bad for the game, and that might have been true…in 2008. However, it’s not 2008 anymore, and the gaming landscape has changed.

But clearly Blizzard has decided that they want Classic to be the niche alternative to retail, and that it should only appeal to the few hundred people who can plan their lives around the game.

there is tho, if in 1 hour /played you got 2 badges and 1 peice of gear for running a LFG pug, and 1.5 badges and .6666 peices of gear queud into RDF i believe a good portion of the playerbase would gladly still take that and be able to run around the world and craft etc while the system does the work for them.

These are arbitrary numbers and not anything real, aside from a negative proportion to account for the convenience refferecend in the previous post btw. dont take these numbers literally.

Am I sensing sarcasm here?

Looks like the only thing you learned from school was how to read and write. You might want to take some logic and reasoning classes.

Everything you’re saying is complete nonsense. It’s not worth a forum post.

in my post?

Ok, so once you have all the badges/gear you need from heroics, what is the incentive as a geared player from sludging through the process to get a dungeon group? I can tell you from my personal experience in OG Wrath as a geared player I actually did way more dungeons as a geared player because I could queue and then go experience the world. Instead our only option is to sit in Dalaran and stare at a window (whether its the new awful tool or LFG Bulletin Board). All of this because of some delusional vision that socialization happens in the game. It doesn’t exist now without RDF, what will change in Wrath to make it appear?
