Literally wants the famous Death knights abilities with a 40 yard range.
The game doesn’t pander to one specific person. Because “Stupid classes are stupid”
What blizzard clearly does like to do, is make classes out of the Hero units from Warcraft 3… That’s what all the additional classes are. If tinkers get added, they’ll be carrying on that lineage.
I’m a huge proponent of Tinkers. Been wanting that class since WoW came out, and is one of the remaining hero classes to be brought over from WC3. They have also been featured in other Blizzard games (HotS), and even in WoW as NPC’s. Sorry to those who think they aren’t fit for this game, but they have been around in the Warcraft universe long before WoW.
I think it’s a dumb argument to say Tinkers would take away from the Engineering profession. At this point professions revolve around enhancing gear, making mounts, making pets, making toys, consumables, etc. In no way do professions enter into the rotation of actual combat. Mages don’t take away from enchanting, Assassination Rogues don’t take away from Alchemy, etc.
I also think Tinkers are a cool and original class, as we don’t have any technology based classes. I could envision them DPSing from range with guns, rockets, turrets, bombs, and lasers, they could tank in a giant mech suit with buzz saws, flame throwers, and rocket punches, and you could even incorporate an Alchemy like build for healers with healing foam sprays, flying syringes, and more.
Necromancers would truly steal from DK’s and Warlocks (who were already hit by the addition of DH’s), and their death theme has been more than played out in classes. Tinkers are the true original and fresh class, but with alot of Warcraft history…
Honestly, ever since they made Gnome hunters, and gave us the ability to tame mechanical pets, I haven’t had much want for the tinker class.
Double that after all the great mechanical transmog pieces in Mechagon, plus the Gnome heritage armor. The Goblin Heritage armor coming up should really finish it for me on not needing tinkers.
I’m a fan of the concept, although I’m not sure how the class would work. There’s a lot you could do with it, and you could give the class to any race that currently doesn’t have the druid class without it being too weird (except maybe Blood Elves or Draenei). I just hope they don’t make it a hero class if they do add it.
Already stated that they are very similar and it probably wouldn’t be a good idea but would be a heck of a lot better than tinkerers. Anyway, stop trying to be so argumentative. You’re borderline harassing me here for stating my opinion.
Can say the same thing about people thinking tinkerers are a good idea “because it’s a good idea”
Which in my opinion would suck, which is ALL I was saying. You’re the one over here trying to argue that my personal opinion is wrong or whatever you’re trying to do…
Heck, if they had a ranged spec with guns, that would SUPPORT engineers, given they can make scopes for two classes.
The only endgame utility that engineers have still is the ability to repair inside of instances with Jeeves. It’s a good enough reason for them to stay around.
I absolutely hate the idea of a tinker class. IMO the aesthetics are ugly and the only races that fit the class are the least popular: Gnomes and Goblins. No other races fit. I don’t like the Gnome and Goblin tech look. Plus, Blizzard will never make it so you run around in a mech (unless its mount) or fight in a mech full time.
However, I feel that this class will happen eventually. I’d just prefer that if the next expansion is death themed, it should have a death themed class.
Please don’t take offense to my opinion, because it’s just that, an opinion. I don’t want to hurt anyone.
If they turn out to be a strong anti-melee class I’ll welcome them with open arms. Anything that helps break up the melee spec bonanza in battlegrounds can only be good.
I’m excited for what they could be but cautiously optimistic… Blizz has a habit of only hitting half the mark with anything they do. I just want them to have bombs and flamethrowers…
If you think Dwarves aren’t technical geniuses too, then you clearly didn’t play Warcraft 3.
Orcs would work too, if you remember the entirety of Draenor and Blackrock Foundry.
Counting allied races, that’s already 4 races for allies and 3 for horde.
As for the prettyboy blood elves. They don’t make a lot of sense but at least you guys have magical golems and Constructs, and considering Blood elves make up more than half the playerbase Blizz might throw you a bone anyways.
Tinkers in Warcraft 3 Were in a mech full time. It just got a lot bigger with their ultimate ability.
Easiest way to interpret that is to have the Mech suit be a Cooldown. Like a druid with the Guardian affinity talent.
