Im curious, how does everyone feel about tinkers as a class?

I DO NOT WANT TINKERS!!! TERRIBLE CLASS IDEA…DOUBT THERE WILL BE ANY TINKERS BECAUSE EVERY NEW CLASS GO WITH THE THEME OF THE EXPANSION

i mean do you really think were gonna have a mechagon expansion theme? if we did, im not buying it

Tinkers, Dark Rangers, AND Wardens are all deeply rooted in the Warcraft lore. You’re just being insulting by claiming unoriginality.
Would you rather Blizzard pull something completely made up out of their hats instead of go with established lore? Because I think that would be pretty cringey.

Bards are a stretch for me. In D&D Bards exist because Magic is simply a projection of will, in much the same way that Music is a projection of will.

Alternatively, Arcane Magic in WoW is actually left over Titan energy, and Titan complexes are actually like giant super computers. It doesn’t make much sense to Tie that to music.

As for Necromancers, I’ve stated this claim before. The practice of that magic is WAY to rare, and the few people that have practiced it, Ner’zuhl, Kel’Thuzad, Arthas, Sylvanas. Have all been enemies to all life on Azeroth. Nobody would even be around to Teach players to be Necromancers.

Uhhh…

Renegade Death Knights were good weapons against the Scourge…

Monks were good weapons against the Sha, due to their inner peace…

Demon Hunters are obviously good weapons against the Demons.

If the next expansions’ theme is all about Death and Undeath, Then you can’t raise Machines from the dead…
And if the Next expansions’ theme is about Old Gods and Corruption, Then machinery is the polar opposite of corruption.
Remember, Before the curse of flesh. All the Titan Constructs were living machines.

Makes more sense than many of the ideas that roll through these forums

“BuT nEcRoMaNceRs!”

Completely covered by warlocks and DKs. Unholy DK is a necromancer

Need to see how they would play before I cast a stone.

Overall the thought it for sure has me turned off but again I have no idea play style, animations, or cosmetically what I’m looking at.

I have no doubt my mental image is going to be way off of what Blizz has in store if Tinker turns out to be correct.

That said I’d like more of a Dark Ranger or Battle Mage thing I’ve read about, Shadow Hunter that is a mix of range and melee or just flat Range.

That’s just my 2¢

Not at all, but engineering is a profession with very specific benefits by way of engineering specific gadgets they can use to enhance themselves. To drop all of that into a class seems redundant.

another bad argument from someone making bad comparisons with no point to be had.

You just don’t want tinkers, so no matter what other people’s arguments are bad. You’re not an honest actor in this discussion.

Jumping to many conclusions I see. I don’t care if Tinkers are added or not. I’m simply saying it’s peak imbecile to say ‘classes with dots step on warlock toes’ when every single class in the game has a dot and doesn’t affect the gameplay needs a warlock brings in any capacity.

Acting like the engineering profession is anything like the tinker class with the exception of a technological theme is disingenuous. Go do an IE, and tell me the tinkers there are anything like the engineering profession with the exception of similar themes. You can’t be honest and do it.

attacking me as a person instead of my points is really poor form.

Tinkers don’t even exist as a defined class so I don’t see how you can make that statement about island expeditions and have some relevance to it. Engineering quite literally is ‘tinkering’ there’s even a section of it called ‘Tinkers’ where u make all manner of gadgets. Stop throwing around moralising with words like ‘honesty’. you want tinkers, good for u. Stop pretending there is some greater purpose beyond that.

you started the personal attacks way before I did by saying I’m ‘dishonest’, which is funny since I haven’t misrepresented anything, but you certainly have been with your ‘go do island expeditions’ tripe.

If tinkerers start at 120 I’ll give it a try.

Have no desire for that type of class at all. The whole “mech” aspect of the game is my least favorite.

I win, you can’t argue your point about tinkers, so you just attack me. Thank you good day.

I would love a tinker class. I don’t think it takes away any of Warcraft’s fantasy because technology has always existed in warcraft since the very beginning. Tinkers were a thing in the Warcraft world almost 20 years ago.

I used to want a Necromancer class the most, but after they stole half of Warlocks’ abilities to give to Death Knights and Demon Hunters, I’m not sure the poor Warlocks can take any more beating.

I’ve always loved bards, too, but I’m not sure how they would fit in to a world that has never had any bards.
