Just a tip - get yourself some mouseover macros or addon, makes your life about a thousand times better as a healer.
I actually heal all the groups in LFR. Focus on tanks, and if they are good I will go around and heal everyone in range. A good healer addon like healbot is crucial in my opinion. I have mine set up so it displays the tanks in one group, the healers in another, and then it breaks the dps down by group. That allows me to easily prioritize my healing. WoWs default raid ui is worthless.
It’s been a while since I’ve healed in there. There’s nothing to worry about, just go in and do your best.
Go for it. What happens in LFR stays in LFR.
What’s LFR? Is it like “Baby’s first raid”? I don’t understand how dungeon difficulties and raiding works compared to XIV.
My Druid is only 73 but that stuff sounds fun lol.
Healing in LFR? Go right in. Just read the Guide and pick the right person to follow during the battle lol you know, like, well seasoned mage
But when it comes to Nzoth… I couldn’t try it yet cos people say it’s horrible
Can you tell me how was it after you did it?
Thanks. : ) I have 6 days maybe I can give it a shot : P
over the 16yrs or whatever i’ve played this game, one thing i’ve always credited my skills is it came from solo queueing dungeons and raids to heal. it’s a great place to learn your own style, techniques, game play, etc. it’s probably the only good thing that comes from LFR- you can sort of be carried as you learn and get better without much repercussions. with that though comes being able to take criticism, whether helpful or toxic, and just keep learning to get better.
it’ll be a little nerve-racking, along with some adrenalin rushes… just remember to have fun. =]
Healing is a blast.
Just be ready for the two types of players youre going to run across in LFR.
- newbies who stand in all things bad and dont know how to avoid some of the avoidable damage. The problem I ran into is it can be a number of them who are new. But you have more than one healer, thankfully, so its not all on you like in dungeons.
- Raider wannabe’s who apparently arent good enough for real raiding, but think theyre raiding gods, but arent. Just one of these clowns can ruin everyone elses fun.
Healing in LFR is a great way to learn. The mechanics are minimal enough that you don’t have to be on top of your game, and it’s an easy enough difficulty where your other healers can easily pick up the slack while you get the hang of healing.
My biggest suggestion would be to adjust your raid frames and move them more towards the center & bottom of your screen so that your eyes aren’t darting all over the place… up to the left for raid frames, back to the center for boss abilities/mechanics you need to see, down to the bottom to your action bars, etc… I’d recommend doing a quick Google search of healer UI setups to get a general idea of what I mean. It makes a really big difference when everything you need to see is kind of in a central location.
Other than that… try it and have fun! Don’t stress about it too much, even if the first few tries don’t go well. It’s LFR, not a mythic world first kill, so don’t get too worried about it overall.
I personally enjoy healing in raids much more than going in as dps (although you couldn’t pay me to heal a 5 man mythic pug). It’s the only reason I continue to play hybrids to this day, despite the fact that the only time I really heal is in a raid, and the occasional BG.
Good luck, and have fun!
well, i tried it. i ran dazar on lfr as a healer and… i’m not sure i got the healer experience. i felt like a dps, with a tiny bit more work… is this what disc in lfr is supposed to feel like? regardless, i’m gonna try it again on my goblin priest. maybe it’ll feel different then…
LFR is where one goes to really challenge themselves.
Can you carry that many people?
Can you put up with the oopses without resorting to verbal abuse?
Can you figure out what’s going on with who?
LFR makes mythic raiding look like a vacation.
