I'm bored with Dragonflight. And WoW in general

Hey if you feel is this way, its fine, save some money, unsub and try maybe some other games. Plenty of new stuff out or coming out.

You can always come back later if it peeks your interested. No point in forcing yourself to play a game you don’t like. Taking a break is a healthy thing.

Outside of my weekly raid night, yes. I am totally burnt out.

Yes, I have been experiencing this for a few weeks. I briefly tried to immerse myself in the pvp, but the premades just made that s***fest intolerable.

I eventually turned to collecting or trying old achievements. I’m only forty pets away from the 1600 achievement.

It seemed like a alot of stuff to do at launch, but now its that same tedious stuff. Outside of instanced content ( which isnt my thing), im finding it hard to log in and just waiting for the wife to burn out as well so we can move onto something else.

As the previous few wow expansions have basically been on loop with nothing to do, I’m thinking this might be my last one. I prefer solo content, but even in a group outside of instanced stuff, what is there to do in the wow open world?

hunting a hunt, farming some keys, a communtiy feast, trials, etc… ? Oooh Awe

On the outside, it appears as though there will be a lot of fun to be had inside, but as you enter, all you find are lines and food stands; once you get past the initial system of whatever, you realize there is nothing but a broken-down merry-go-round and a ferris wheel.

Ironically, given what we know about Metzen, a cataclysm may be the only thing that can cure it at this point. I could continue by mentioning an expansion the size of vanilla, a ball gripping narrative, an improved engine, and some serious AI, but that would be wasting breath.

I quit and went back to EQ1 on an emulated server (TakP).

I’m having a blast. The game is both a lot harder and a lot slower than WoW (for instance, I may take an entire play session just to travel to where I want to play the next session) but feels a lot less rushed / hurried and more rewarding for it.

I’m realizing how nice it is to chat with people and not have combat be a hectic APM fest too (outside of bards), and how nice it is that gear is truly meaningful: a piece you get at level 10 may well last you until level 50.

Yup, reached the goal I intended to reach and haven’t been interested in pursuing anything else. But I’m also in the middle of school, so the amount of grind I’d have to subject myself to to get the really lofty goals is unfeasible for me.

Isn’t a big deal, a game’s a game. I’ve found other things to do instead, maybe you should too?

No. i have been pacing along.

I like playing WOW and doing keys, but I feel like there’s other stuff I want to do more than playing WOW. I don’t know though really, maybe I’m just bored in general or I need to find some sort of community.

This is such a uniquely weird community in that they feel like having hobbies and interests outside of World of Warcraft, or not being obsessed enough to play 15 hours a day is somehow a bad thing. It’s kinda concerning, ngl…

I ran the weekly…opened a bunch of dirt boxes etc…made some gold…
now sitting, wondering what to do next?
I dont dungeon or raid or pvp…
fishing gets boring after a bit

thought I might start to level my panda DK, since I haven’t gotten around to it yet…but…meh…I dunno

I dont play other games, can’t afford to pay for them, so this is it for me. I have many hobbies outside of game, but, as its my 1st day off, I just am too tired to mess with them. Heck, I don’t even watch t.v…it’s on, for hubs sake, but it’s just noise to me

edit - oh…and nalak is still being super stingy…si there’s that

Ya. I came back to world pvp removed and now I have no motivation to gear. It’s basically Diablo 2. Work you’re ars off grinding for that enigma, then when you get it you realize you never needed it and have nothing to do anymore.

Yeah I was bored too…everything just became unenjoyable for me including friends. Just small talk.

Also @ Selende I think some of us are attached to this game. I would know cause I used to be attached. Same goes for my 9 yr WoW friend. I wish her the best, shes almost 40. She could be married by now or have a bf , could be hangout with her gf’s. Hell, she could be f***ing working, shes smart too. Instead she spends her time on this game. I can’t count how many times she would cry to me about how ppl mistreated her in this game, how she hasnt found that special someone. All sounds depressing.

Meanwhile she prob alone hopping on her 27th alt, killing world bosses not even guarrenteed to get a mount. And shes has way more consistent attempts than I ever had since MoP .

Which leaves me to think we have potiential for achieving greater goals , creating special moments with ppl who would sincerely want to get to know you or spend time with you.

This game can cause one to not put forth any real effort in real life. Just keeps you sucked in. Well good thing I realized all that effort was for nothing… game isnt fun for me anymore.

I’m bored with these posts. Guess we both suffer lol

If we had account wide rep then it wouldn’t feel like punishment progressing your alts over your main.

So we could do that guilt free to pass time…

The cool thing is you don’t even have to look at them.

Cool thing is, these people could just quit. Looks like a problem all around lol.

Yeah, the direction of the game is the problem.

Not just the game … I get that feeling from life in general from time to time… it’s an opportunity to reflect on things.

I actually installed FF14 again last night. Made a level 1… rhino horn caster person who becomes the summoner, too lazy to google it. Either that or Bard, couldn’t make up my mind.

I forgot how alive the cities feel. People in different areas, doing different stuff like playing music, the ambient city sound. Felt good.

WoW is lacking stuff to keep me entertained out in the open world. Truth be told, I’d take Titanforging and RNG Legendary items back in a heartbeat if it at least meant the world content was worth doing daily. I’m interested in the 10.0.7 system but until then I’ve sort of checked out.

What you need is a new video game for a while.

When I take breaks from WoW, I do other "stuff. "

1.) I play a different video game.
I highly recommend SPRPGs like Skyrim (heavily modded), Witcher, RDR, or the new Hogwarts Legacy or A Plague Tale, etc. Get a game you can really dive into. If single-player RPGs are not your bag, go with something else, but play a different game.

2.) I watch television.
My husband and I don’t watch TV. We play video games in the hours other people use for television. We don’t even watch movies that much. If you’re like us, replace your WoW hours with some good TV. Get on a streaming service and find shows you meant to watch but never got around to.

3.) I indulge other hobbies altogether.
There are things I enjoy doing that I don’t really spend much time on when I’m playing WoW every day. Like other people, I have only 24 hours in a day, and quite a few of those are spent doing daily domestic chores, random adulting chores, and sleeping. I can’t do everything all the time, so when I take WoW breaks, I do those other things I enjoy like crochet, writing, reading, sewing, etc.

It is natural and normal for interest in a particular activity to wax and wane. Take a pause. Skip a raid tier. Heck, just skip a month! Go do something else. The game will still be here when you come back.

I prefer bard

But you can play all classes on your character. So if one class isn’t the right choice for you, you can still switch later on.

And since you are new, one small tip: Do the main story quest (the one with flames) first. ff14 plays different than wow. It’s not a good idea to do all sorts of side quest at the beginning.
If you want to do them, you can still do that after the main story and gain lots of optional rewards for completing them.
