Good for you, that’s some nice damage. How about a breakdown of your DPS outside of AotD windows? I highly doubt your 11k lasts any longer than 30 seconds, if even that.
I also HIGHLY doubt you are peaking 11k burst on every boss fight, you talk as if you are pulling absurd numbers on every fight. Surely an ultra grand master such as yourself would forsake damage for mechanics, right?
This is purely because they nerfed the jeezus out of 2H frost on beta, not because unholy is OP. If it were a level playing field, there would be far more 2H frosties running around.
100% this. I can’t wait for these people to come back to the forums once content starts opening up more and whining about poor damage after inevitable nerfs that they sooo desire; because nobody else can enjoy their beloved unholy except them, right?

Well I mean, that is precisely my point hahaha. You’re taking a tiny sample over the course of an entire encounter and using it as the crux of your argument to nerf the class. I find it personally hilarious.
Which is why you happen to have glossed over the rest of my points; again, would you care to share a breakdown of your DPS outside of an 8 minute AotD window?
I’d bet an identically geared rogue, Hunter, spriest, mage, heck even ret paladin can keep up outside of that window, yet that seems to be how you analyse the class’s performance - around peak burst windows on short fights.
How about heavy movement fights, you still overpowered VS ranged DPS? What about as we step into proper M+ and Aff locks get a chance to ramp up? Will unholy still be overpowered then?

lmao really? Arcane mages been crushing mythic dungeons lately, DK isn’t going to get nerfed, if anything it’ll get some tuning. Currently on M0, if my tank pulls and stacks everything with every CD (except army of the dead) I can get upto 10-11K DPS. That is if I time everything correctly. However, looking at arcane mages, every pull they are hitting 9k.
With that said, I know M0 isn’t a good place to compare AOE damages as things die extremely quick right now. However, I still don’t see unholy DK being at the top of the pecking order. My bet is mages are gonna get nerfed when Mythic Nathria comes out; MM & Spriest will also see some tuning. As for unholy DK, our main secondary stat is mastery, so expect a mild nerf middle of the expansion when our secondary stats are off the charts from gear, leggo and enchants.

Yep.
People are worried that Blizzard will do their usual round of nerf hammers for Unholy and rightfully so due to feedback, not only in pve, but in pvp as well. And people want frost to be brought up, however others think its fine which is causing a split there between them (not to mention the dw vs 2h crowd). And then we have blood struggling with armor and in some cases threat where some say it’s fine and other say it’s not.
We are dealing with a lot of split opinions here and I’m afraid that this time around blizzard will nerf everyone just because or… do nothing at all…

Dominating isn’t the right word. Unholy has the top spot on 2 bosses in heroic logs out of 6. Not exactly beating everyone. But it is competitive

To be fair, it’s heroic. Not that I don’t expect to see unholy absolutely dominating in mythic as well, but I would expect marksman and moon kin to close the gap at current tuning.
I was looking at normal. We also have to take in consideration that most people aren’t even at 200 item as of last night. So, for now, normal seems to be reasonable with majority being 184 or a weee bit higher.
I find it kind of funny cuz about a week ago there were people raging here when I said Unholy was over performing…
They gave me a good laugh.

I am more afraid Swarming Mists is going to get nerfed.
With how committed they make you feel to your covenant choice, the idea of the ability getting nerfed at all is really an awful feeling.
I feel like Swarming Mists is what is really allowing me to pump numbers, at least in Mythics. The AoE from it is bonkers. Then you have Army for the boss fights which allows DK to pump through every aspect of the dungeon.
Raids will be a different story.
