Sylvanas ain’t going anywhere and here is why. We have an undead race in the game. We need sylvanas to exist.
Racial leaders die all the time. No - we don’t need your Banshee Queen anymore.
Calia Menethil is, if I am not mistaken, the best claimant to the throne of Lordaeron. So it’s not like you couldn’t have a new Dead Lady.
The word you’re looking for is “lie.” They were lying.
Lie? Blizzard would never lie to us!
/s
The end hasn’t happened yet so we don’t know that Sylv will be just another Garry repeat.
N’zoth wants Sylvanas to have the blade. Sylvanas wants us to fall into Azshara’s trap. Sylvanas wants Baine freed from captivity and she wants the traitors in the Honor Horde to know that she knows that they know.
I don’t believe Sylvanas is a puppet or being used unwillingly by the Old Gods. Nor do I believe Sylvanas is going to be a raid boss or the end villain.
So what is going on?
Kel’Thuzad’s remains are destroyed, the Sunwell is untouched, the Scourge beaten back and Arthas is battered and writhing on the ground. Sylvanas approaches him and shoves him upright.
Arthas: This was not our destiny…
Sylvanas: Times change.
Except we don’t.
If only there was an undead human that espoused the ideals of the Forsaken…
Would be cool if saurfang thrall and baine e d up being the bad guys. Its wishful thinking on my part.
It’s N’Zoth now.
Why not use an old god relic, what could possibly go wrong?
Meh got a whole race of old god people on the alliance. What could go wrong.
Would be interesting if the void elves and shadow priests all defected to N’zoth.
Gotta bring Arthas from Alternate timeline, his name is enough to strike fear in Banshee queen’s heart xD
If this is the formula going with, then this could be the third death prophecy mentioned by Il’gyonath but I still believe Azeroth will be at her third death.
Dude I have already said it will be World of Warcraft: High Lords of Azeroth. Makes way more sense after we go back in time to AU Azeroth and fight against the orc invasion with the greatest Alliance heroes ever.
Edit: Also that xpac seems more fitting for after Lor’themar is made war chief and goes mad with power and has to be stopped and then him fleeing to an alternate universe.
The Black Blade is apparently the Claw of Y’Shaarj (and thus, once the extremely weakened Old God Xal’Atath was removed from the blade, Y’Shaarj was likely able to exert some minor amount of will again). After all, we’ve had teasers that Black Goat still survives in some extremely weakened state in the Island Expeditions).
That being said … Sylvie also has circumstantial evidence to suggest that she has had connections to Yogg-Saron as far back as the book “Edge of Night”:
- She smashed herself against his blood.
- Was then sent to a hell that she would have made any deal to escape from (and in a non-undead state … so she could be manipulated by Void).
- Was then presented a FAR too good-to-be-true deal to escape that Hell.
- Has connections with Heyla (even making still-unknown deals with her); who has clearly been effected by the Curse of Flesh and has connections to Yogg through Loken (who, according to Xal, did a wonderful job “turning her”).
- Has been uttering nonsense like “Hope is a disease and I will cut it out” or claiming she can “Kill Hope”. The self proclaimed “God of Death’s” title? “Hope’s End.”
Something tells me that while only N’Zoth and Xal are openly active right now … the other Old Gods are potentially every bit as invested in what is currently going on. As for Sylvie … we’ll just have to see how she’s involved in this mess going forward (but, at the very least, I don’t see her remaining part of the Horde by the end of BfA … even if she does survive).
My two cents:
Sylvanas has been possessed by Ner’zul since the Ice Crown incident during wrath of the lich king. It’s my belief that it’s one of the reasons the Valkyr follow her at all because they know this.
Ner’zul wants to escape to the blade for more agency, N’zoth wants to be free. Those two have conspired to use Sylvanas for that purpose while restarting the scourge with an attack on Stormwind. This has been heavily foreshadowed in the books and the Saurfang OVA. In the books she literally states she wants to raise all of Stormwind as forsaken, in the OVA Anduin comments on the number of bodies just lying around.
Hence 8.3 will be an attack on Stormwind and Sylvanas will be purged of Ner’zul who probably who escapes to the blade which goes suspiciously missing at the end of the fight.
My speculation beyond that is she’ll be allowed to ‘retire’ to windrunner tower with her dark rangers.
except Xel is free of dagger so its not sentient anymore and is just a magical relic.
unless i missed Xel still being bound to it after her deal and stuff with N’zoth.
Also, too, there are two undead night elf girls that the Horde just picked up in free agency.
If Blizzard keeps the parallels in the stories between Sylvanas and Delaryn going, Delaryn will be Warchief after Baine.
Baine will be Warchief for only one expansion; he will die to a random mob and name Delaryn as his successor.
Delaryn will then invade Iron Forge…and the cycle of undeath will continue.
