The original toxic revenger did the same thing. Then again, the original was 1.9 speed and they changed it to a 1.8 speed weapon.
Gut ripper has nearly the same range of damage and has a proc that doesn’t apply a dot.

Gut ripper is BIS for PVP followed by the STV dagger.
Gut ripper even does more damage in PVE on single target, I just checked the Simonize sim for rogue.

The STV dagger is also better for PVP than the raid dagger. It’s super easy to get. It has agi and stam on it.

It’s 2nd BIS for PVP and arguably BIS over gut ripper because of the Stam.

gut ripper aside the best wep setup for damage is gnomer in mainhand, bloodharvest in off. check your sim
The STV dagger is slower, has stamina, and agi.
It’s arguably the best overall PVP dagger.
Gut ripper does the most damage. Even in PVE.
