I'll pay $500 to bring my Era clone back from your archived data. Ball's in your court, Blizz!

Wasn’t around when they were offering it, otherwise I would have! Didnt even know about it!

Why then with the update last Tuesday for Era did some players report that uncloned characters were showing up with the “restore” option? Which they were able to utilize.

Just a couple of examples. Looks like at least “some” of the data was archived.

sounds like a bunch of hooey to me :expressionless:

I don’t expect that you or any player would be able to accurately address this.
I’ve asked that Blizzard do so but … they’re busy.

This pays for about 3 minutes of crew service on a single yacht.

You’re not going to convince Blizz with pennies.

Well who says I have to fund the entire endeavor top to bottom! Yacht trips are certainly expensive but server transfers are still only $25 lol

Whales be out there transferring 40 characters between servers

Can I have your money instead and actually put it to good use?

The characters are gone.

That’s not any more useful that posting here lol.

You are talking to a wall, most of their mods given the boot. There are more mods in private wow servers than in live servers.

Just dont know why they deleted the data. Surely there’s far, far more characters on retail sitting there that havent been logged into for a decade plus… classic era characters could’ve sat there forever…

I support this. Bring back the clones.

This is how you know the incompetence knows no bounds. Simps keep saying “but the characters cost money to take up space hurdur” but they could have made the money back by people realizing they want an Era clone. What kind of ninny just deletes data.

terrible idea. rewarding blizz for abusing you

Blizzard would have had to have known a year ago that Classic Era would explode in popularity.

Wouldn’t it be a lot cheaper to just pay someone to create the character anew?

There was no email regarding the system shutdown, only to advertise the service to begin with. There was no reasonable expectation that Blizzard would have discontinued this service based on all of the other service lifetimes that are offered. Anybody who wasn’t an active subscriber and paying attention to forum announcements could have easily missed that this service was shutting down.

This is Blizzard’s mistake. They created a service that did not need to be created, they should have just let people clone for free. Then they arbitrarily shut down that service for no reason either. They could have just left it there for players to use as they wished.

Please stop.

Blizzard should not have done what they did. What they did was wrong and now you’re offering to throw money at them, rewarding their error?

And people wonder why this game is plagued with bots and gold buying :frowning:

My guildies restored multiple lvl 60’s, it very much happened. We couldn’t figure out the trigger as some people who did the exact same steps (husband and wife duo) had different restore capabilities. There was a blip somewhere that caused some char copies to be saved, but not all of them.
