Time spent traveling is more likely to make me go “I will do the four easiest/closest to FP WQs for this emissary, and then be done”. Whereas if I can easily get to them, I’m far more likely to go, “Sure, I’m done with my emissary, but this quest is kinda fun and it’s not too far out of my way, I’ll go do it, too.”
That said, BfA really suffers from a lack of variety in WQ. It seems like the same ones are always up. Even the ones I liked at the beginning of the expansion, I’m getting sick of.
Wait, so you think not doing pathfinder will send them a message that you want easier flight in future content? Wouldn’t that just send the message that you did an entire expansion WITHOUT it and you really don’t need it going forward?
Not to mention that there is a small list of ways to ‘play’ this game but only ONE way to play it that ends in getting pathfinder.
Those of us who enjoy farming, fishing, etc, have NO chance of ‘just playing the game’ and getting flight.
Though suspiciously we CAN actually farm and level up in doing so.
Exactly.
When travel is easier, I PLAY(ED) MORE…thus why I stay in MoP and prior when I play(ed).
When its more time consuming and irritating, I do what I did with golf…quit.
and I did.
My subs are up beginning of May. They wont be renewed under the current conditions.
What really burns my noodles is blizzard did this AFTER I paid for an additional WoW account including having to pay for both legion and BFA ($110+). After I paid for NINE character boosts (totaling $540). AFTER I paid for 6 account /server transfers ($150 total). AFTER I paid for some character changes ($25 a pop). AFTER I spent nearly $1000 on upgrades to my PC so I could run two accounts simultaneously.
Now Im sitting here with a rig many would drool over and at this point in time its nearly useless to me since I aint playing WoW. Cant remember the last time I logged in.
I SHOULD have taken some clues when I was reading all the other complaints in here and around the web that maybe this company and this game was too shaky to get in too deep with.
My wife is incessantly reminding me that Im far too trusting.
Going to disagree about not doing pathfinder, just because they only care about the numbers and they will translate the low pathfinder numbers as “no one wants flying”, yay. Instead of properly translating it to “oh people got tired of not being able to fly”.
It is incredibly stupid it has come down to this. There is no reason at all that we should not be able to fly when the first patch hits.
Pathfinder part 1 is fine, explore, quest in every zone, get rep with everyone. Ok fine, do that anyway leveling up. Part 2 is not needed.
They should do - part 1 lets you fly in the new expansion after the first patch hits.
part 2 lets you fly in whatever else is added (think broken shore). Then have other areas where there is no flying no matter what (like argus etc).
But time gating flying to this late after the expansion came out is bull.
Yep, we have been playing since '07 on our main accounts and '08 on our 2nd set of accounts. This is seriously an issue that is going to cause us to call it done. We keep holding out hope that things will change, but yeah our faith in the dev team is pretty shot right now.
This, we diddled our way thru Warlords, sorta enjoyed Legion. But now, heck he won’t even log on, I log on and look at wq’s and stuff and log off. It’s become more of a job than a hobby. If we do quit, we won’t be back. Having far more fun playing Destiny 2 right now, even if I do die so much they both just breathe deep and laugh. Gonna make a clan and name it “guardian down” since i do it so well.
Its almost ironic that the crap they keep pulling to make us play more actually ends up causing us to stop playing altogether and hate them in the process for destroying what was a perfectly fine game a few years ago.
Its going to take Ion resigning and Activision letting Blizzard out of hits greedy talons before Id consider resubbing again.
Having a BLAST playing ESO now…and somehow they make it awesome without flight at all.
It started its decline was when crz was added. Opinions eh. Everyone has one. What other claims can you folks pull out of your magic hats that started the decline of this game that has not been repeated a billion times over the last 10 years lol.
Content droughts started the decline in subs, as players who had nothing to do left and some never came back. That hastened the inevitable decline of an aging game.
But Wow’s overall quality didn’t really decline until post MoP.
Exactly.
its pretty naive of the PF fan boys in here to think differently.
Blizzards views didnt change. They were petulant enough to take away silly little portals that werent harming anything…OF COURSE they want flight out of the game.
It’ll be entertaining watching this Wile E Coyote in the end, quite frankly.
I purchased flying in expansions and I have completed every pathfinder they have thrown my way. I like flying. I don’t mind being grounded and exploring every inch of the map. But when every zone is complete - when I have crawled very nook and cranny for a treasure/scroll/artifact achieve - when I have done every major quest line - please, for the love of Wow - grant me flying? It will keep me playing longer… after I have appreciated every beautiful square inch of your map…please… let me fly…
You can say that all you want, but Legion proved that people don’t leave just because just flying, this expansion is crap. To try and say people are quitting because of no flying is a straight up lie and completely silly to even try and peddle.
You are either trying to put words in others mouths or are inferring something that was not implied.
I didn’t say the majority of pro-flyers left just in THIS expansion, nor that the only reason people leave is flying.
I, for example, left because of flying AND Player Agency.
–One, or the other, is sufficient for me to move on.–
I no longer care, have your no flying game, remove player agency game, you and the devs win. There is no shortage of other entertainment in the world.
That’s not it. It is the fact they wanted to remove it entirely back in WOD. I see the later and later release of flight is their way of weaning us off it until they can safely remove it.
