My hype in them was to be determined on how good they look and after seeing their model preview on wowhead yea Im gonna play them for sure. Armor fits, almost neutral stance, proportioms are great, they are all night elves coudnt be.
If these were the og nightelves bodies I would play them more.
Story wise I dont like them. I am still failling to understand why any humanoid population that lived isolated and always relied on each other to survive the worst places would choose to join A MUCH BIGGER WAR and to fight and kill their own brothers. Didnt make sense for earthen, makes less sense for this proto elves.
Haranir might be cool if they didnāt appear to steal an Allied Race slot from Forest Trolls (Horde) and High Elves (Alliance). Neither of which should be customizations and should be full Allied Races. No one, beyond maybe a lone outlier, asked for Earthen as playable and no one asked for Haranir either; as they did not exist prior to TWW.
Forest Trolls and High Elves have been requested as far back as Vanilla with Farstriders and Revantusk.
Not hyped but might make a male hunter. Maybe a male mage IF they donāt do the same goofy animations as male nelfs, but most likely just a hunter. I hope I like a handful of the hunter pets they have available, weāll see though.
A haranir will be my 6th druid. I dunno if Iām wicked hyped as I hadnāt even heard of them til they were announced for the xpac, but they just look like thicker night elves to me. New druid forms are always fun
So give them more customization to not be that. Thatās kinda the point I was getting at. You could literally rig them to 2 body types, seeing as how we literally have that with the Maldraxxi gladiator models that share their skeletons: Bulky or Muscled. (Also, youāre playing a male goblin, so being ugly doesnāt inherently stop something from being played.)
They could make dark trolls more distinct, given they were described āmore primalā than other trolls. Literally take the haranir aesthetics of their deep underground society/plant growth stuff and slap it on trolls instead of a trelf. Also, thereās now dwarves in and night elves in the Horde, so whatās the problem with the nelvesā ancestors joining the Alliance?
That doesnāt stop either from being a core feature to the race that will exist across almost all the NPCs and most people playing them. Again, personal preference, I just donāt like looking at it.
Oh, Iāve seen it. They have access to basically a rainbow of skin and hair colors so they can fit the bill for nearly anything. I canāt wait to see people RPing as baby-faced orcs, trolls, or nightborne with the haranir models. /s
