I would argue the fundamental part of GDKPS are the for the leaders to take a gigantic “admin” cut which allows them to offload gold in the bucketloads. I had a quick look at one known discord and in mid Nov for an ICC run the admin cut was 325k. For that server to buy 325k from a well known gold selling website you’re going to be spending $17,000+. Yea sure they won’t get a 1:1 price unless they’re selling the gold direct to consumers, but ain’t no way they’re just holding onto the gold for fun.
The whole point of piloting this ship is to sell the gold.

i helped run the GDKP that got the server first gdkp KT kill on thunderfury in vanilla, was called kgdkp, logs might even still be there if you cared to look it up.
i watched a dude who i used to hang in a social disc with drop $20k over the course of vanilla to gear out 5 toons, and yes i know it was about that much because we were friends and he would post screenshots of his receipts sometimes to flex on everyone in the disc.
we also got a gressil that first kill, it sold for a gold cap, in og vanilla.
the second gressil we got sold for 180k
so yes i am very aquainted with gdkps, and i do think some people will drop that much, because ive seen it personally.

You actually think most GDKP’s members are spending 17k USD a raid on gold to wash?
I didn’t say this. I went on to imply that the ones who organise the big GDKP communities are selling the massive amounts of gold they make. I know from conversations that some do but I can’t give you a discord log or a recording of that conversation to prove to you so you’ll just shrug it off I’m sure.

Why are you replying to this strawman? I didn’t say anyone was spending $17k per raid, although some whales would. I said if you were going to buy the amount of the admin cut being 325k gold it would be that much. You don’t have to offload that all to one person consumer, but I’m sure the gold selling websites would buy it all at a lower rate so they could on sell for more to multiple people.
Don’t let the strawman being presented twist what’s being presented here. That 325k number was the admin cut for a run. Not contribution by one member. And the 17k came about as a rough math conversion to dollars.
Ok since you’re so hung up on the amount, ~$10760 freedom dollars. That is far less and a totally normal amount to spend on wow gold so all my other points are removed.
