You use the gold in future raids. If you continuously spend the gold you earn you fall behind on gear and become a carry. which means no cut or less cut. It hurts you to spend your GDKP earned gold.

There are people who run multiple GDKPs and use the gold for personal IRL gain, that should be tracked and banned. That isnât a fundamental part of GDKPâs. Most players are not selling gold.

short of that attacking the problem from the demand side (GDKP) is the best solution we will get, and it should be done either way just to remove the possible incentive to bot/rmt.

Itâs fair to say that GDKP has some benefits to individuals who donât want to be tied to a guild or set raid schedule. GDKP raids are, while mostly transactional in nature, another social activity in the game, and weâre hesitant to discourage anything that gets people into groups to play together. However, weâve been concerned that GDKP erodes traditional guild and social structures that are in many cases the basis of our most fond memories of early versions of World of Warcraft.
