These would be the most compelling reasons to play…
I’m well aware of clusters. There were 9 people logged in on the whole cluster (server names show up in /who.) I spoke with one person. That person was there because they just resubbed for SoM and was checking old toons.
I’m not stoked about starting over fresh again. It’s really too soon. In Retail, I mained the same toon the whole time, as I liked to get all the progress on him first. For Classic, I remade that toon. In other RPGs, I tried replicating that toon as much as possible when creating/leveling characters. Maybe some people bond with the game in different ways?
Aren’t folks saying that consumables will be more important now? Also, since time is limited, things like crafted weapons and armor might be a bit more popular. Gold will be needed. It should never be bought from a third party… but I’d be surprised if bots don’t figure out ways to make and sell money here.
I bought a bunch of gold, and it didn’t do anything to help me in World Of Warcraft. It is just sitting in my living room, taking up space, and it is too heavy to move easily. Stupid worthless gold.
Oof. Yeah, I’ve tried logging in on level 1 alts here and there to check out the populations, but haven’t actually gone through with bringing any of my max-level Classic toons into Classic Era. I still have a couple in limbo though.
I thought those were the original CE clusters, but haven’t they all since been merged together? I thought there was one PvE cluster, one PvP cluster, and then another for each RP and RP-PvP… I can’t find up to date info on these.
What I can say is that on whatever cluster Pagle (PvE) is on, there’s a fair amount of people online on those occasions where I’ve logged in. Not the population it once was, but I don’t think anybody reasonably expected it to be like that. If I can do a /who 60 and it maxes out at 50 people, I’d definitely say that’s not dead.
