Then you need to relent and let Blizzard monetize this game more. As it stands, even if retail WoW has less players in total compared to the Classic versions, it will still remain priority #1 for Blizzard because it is much more heavily monetized and thus turns a larger profit than Classic, which relies entirely on a sub fee.
So… shop mounts, shop pets, level boosts, tokens and even more you’d have to allow them to do for Classic versions if you actually wanted them to seriously consider switching focus to something like Classic+. Classic needs to eclipse retail in the amount of profit it generates for Blizzard for it to get equivalent or greater support in new content like retail does.
I’m just saying the truth. Don’t shoot the messanger.

This is a well thought-out troll. Good job.

The fact that you think this is a troll post is just the icing on the cake that Classic+ will literally never happen.

With the contrasting priorities from the old and current dev teams, no Classic+ might be a good thing tbh.
I don’t want classic+. It’ll just end up as the same kind of dumpster fire that retail is now.

Let there be legacy servers for each expansion imo. Don’t stop blizzard, keep the train rolling.

So all the things that made us want Classic over retail in the first place?
Brilliant!

Classic+ isn’t happening. Blizzard has been done creating content for years. You should check out their latest game. Diablo II.

I actually don’t mind them monetizing some aspects of Classic. I also don’t mind paying for it as if it is its own expansion (because it is).
What I don’t really want are aspects of the game where there is cross server play more than the BGs already do.
Nah I’m good.
Classic had a solid run. It was inevitable activions and shareholders would ruin it with MTX.

If classic just turns into retail, then I don’t want it at all.

i dont mind them finishing unfinished quest lines and such, that would be neat i think.
but any development beyond that is going to not be within classic, that will be something else. I would hate that.
It is in fact the exact opposite of an expansion. It is the complete and utter lack of an expansion. That’s kind of the whole point.
WoW is already the most monetized AAA title in the world.

Nah, you’re wrong about that. But what can we expect from somebody who’s ignorant about how games are funded and general business practices.
Classic+ is going to happen. Blizzard only realized the potential for it back in 2019. They don’t need further monetizing for classic+ to become a reality. They all ready have the budget for it and know it would make bank.
Blizzard also knows they lost a lot of customers in classic because of the ‘no changes’ attitude they adopted from the start.
I’m beginning to think Classic is already in the past and that soon we will just have multiple versions of retail.

don’t scare me man, thinking that they might turn classic into retail lite is a very very scary thought.
If we are talking classic+, all bets are off as to what is precluded from the “wish list.” Nothing stops them from creating a new classic+ exclusive 40 man. Nothing stops them from making multiple classic+ exclusive 20 / 15 / 10 / 5 man instances. They could very easily turn that into an expansion like experience.
The fact that you honestly have some kind of narrow view on what could be in “classic+” shows that you probably aren’t the audience they would cater this to. And that’s perfectly alright. But the idea that it couldn’t take the form of an expansion is pretty hilarious. That’s literally the point of the +. Keep the game’s core and expand on it. There is nothing constraining that +.
We weren’t. You said “Classic” in the post I quoted not “Classic+”.
Classic isn’t Classic+. That’s a different game altogether and if it’s made should be treated as such.
I’m cool with blizz adding whatever they want to classic BC and Wotlk to keep Classic around, I just don’t want them adding any of that to Classic lol
