This account was created late in BFA so I didnt unlock pathfinder…I refuse to go to BFA zones because of no flying…
I get not wanting people to trivialize the zones in the beggining of an Xpac with flying but they should keep the beggining zones reasonable to navigate… once they release flying go ahead and drop the vertical maps…
Revendreth is a total pain…I never go there unless I am forced for mats or a specific quest requirement.
i dont think it’s designed with flying in mind, rather it’s designed with realism in mind… When you travel across a city or whatever, you can’t travel a perfectly straight line from point a or b… you have to navigate curving/turning roads navigate around land features (hills, mountains, water, barriers, etc)…
MMORPGs are all about immersion… thus having to travel around zone features, regardless of how inconvenient it may be, is all in the name of immersion. All flying has done for wow is make some players too spoiled. Plenty of other rpgs and mmos without flying (i.e. skyrim, witcher, etc), even classic wow, and these are all still considered really great games regardless of you only being able to hoof it on foot and forced to navigate around land/zone features and through countless mobs to get from point a to point b.
From what I heard it is supposed to launch with the first major patch and doesn’t sound like rep will be part of it but based on your Renown level. Not saying it won’t change etc. but sounded like this came from the devs. Which would explain why we don’t see a PF 1 in our Achievements tab as it was there pre-patch for Legion and BfA on what needed to be done.
But either way, the zones are fairly small compared to all other expansions so getting from point A to B doesn’t take long as it is already.
Getting around Revendreth isn’t that hard, but getting to certain areas can be a pain if you don’t spend much time in the zone, so I can empathize slightly.
The zone isn’t designed around flying though, it’s designed without flying in mind, as they’ve said they wanted to create more interesting maps without everyone just flying over them. I don’t agree with their position 100%; I support them wanting their maps to be experienced as intended, but once they’ve been experienced I think it’s only fair that we be allowed to fly.
Definitely is a second hearth. It’s a spell in spellbook. You choose between getting a shield equal to fall damage taken or a second hearthstone. You can set to different location from normal hearthstone
The first post and its intervention iterates how very careful paying customers need to be whenever giving free feedback, regardless of how constructive and honest it is.
Going to just reply to what the mouseover from the main page reveals (i.e. “Revendreth is annoying”). Since your post has been buried, probably with good reason, I’m going to ignore the rest of it.
I actually really love Revendreth; I love the complexity and verticality. Despite the layering, it’s laid out very sensibly, and it’s usually easy to intuit where to go from your map and surroundings.
I actually chose Venthyr on my main in part so I could continue to explore and have fun in the zone, I love the theme and level design so much! Amazing work.
Of course, you can help yourself by using the simple, well known and cheap (or free) tools at your disposal to alleviate the problems you may be having (and simply to have more FUN), e.g. goblin gliders, parasols and such.
First of all I thought it was the one you buy from your renown vendor and they all have one that sends you to the ring of fates . 2nd no need to be an uptight Richard
Well 12 hour cool down that explains why I haven’t picked it and not using Emini soul bind
i died in a WQ earlier today thanks to my idiotic belief that my helping other players meant they would help me if I required it and it was obvious.
What a laugh. I wont be helping ANY other players again from here on out after this last hoax I played on myself, lol
To add insult to my stupidity the nearest graveyard was apparenty something like 750 yards away. ok. whatever. They’ll be done before i get back but…yeah, blizzard. its your game to irritate me with.
Oh…no…that was the least annoying part about getting back…the distance was as the crow flies. The reality was there was some zigzagged path in the first 300 yards, that turned into a cliff wall that even Door of Shadows couldnt get me over. It was far enough aroiund to add a few hundred more yards based on the map view.
Screw it. I went back to the graveyard, ate my ten minute timer and wont be doing the WQ.
If theyre going to make the landscape this bad at the very least dont make the nearest grave 750 yards away with 700 obstacles between here and there.
