If you love FF14 more than WoW, then quit WoW

Vote with your dollar. Stop playing WoW. If you want WoW to become a better game the best thing you can do is leave the game.

In my FC (Free Company; FF14’s version of Guilds) everyone is open about playing both WoW and FF14. They just hop between games but they’re extremely dissatisfied with WoW. They drudge forward hoping their hate threads will have any affect.

If you play both but you say you hate WoW with a passion and want it to be better, contributing to complaint forums and hate threads isn’t going to send Blizzard a message at all.

They’ve been getting hate threads since 2004 and will always get hate threads, even if they make the game great. So this is a horrible tactic. Feedback is good, and it’s standard, but it’s not a great tactic to actually make change as a player. Players are consumers. If you want WoW to be better, stop giving them your money.

Blizzard doesn’t care about anti-WoW opinion as much as you think, and if you’re still playing this game with hopes that your anti-WoW propaganda is enough to send a message to Blizzard to change, you are objectively a fool.

As for me. I personally agree with WoW. So I’ll vote with my dollar and I’ll keep playing WoW.

to be fair you can also not comment here if you’re not subbed, so the people that did vote with their dollars no longer have a voice here.

Adding to that i think wow forum has a very, dedicated user base i think we don’t really get many new forum visitors in this day and age many posters i see now replying on threads i saw back in legion, bfa, some even from wotlk. i play on and off but i think they’re always here. dont even know if they still play the game or just stay subbed/buy tokens just to keep chatting nowadays

Imagine being unable to afford both.

Ultimately i love the WC universe more than the FF universe (despite FFXIV being objectively better than WoW at this point), so yeah i’m gonna criticize the horrible job the staff has been doing on WoW instead of simping for them because praising bad behavior and work is bad to do. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :kissing_heart: :hugs:

My issue is I’ve tried FFXIV a year or so ago. I do not get the big draw but different strokes and all that. Of all the games I played or have played (FFXIV, ESO, GW2) they all lack the things I want in them which is to be more WoW like. What’s difficult is I am so tired of redressed mission tables and paired down garrisons. The endless world quest just to progress through the current patch. The same thing endlessly. So I play WoW very casually.

We’ve been playing the same expansion for years now. They just chopped it up. Nothing was really different between them. On top of that, the story is so convoluted you could drive diesels through the logic holes. And they keep shoving this stuff up like its worth even a free subscription. But my personal options are limited. I’m already so bored of the Korthia grind that I’m considering focusing on another game but I literally just came back full time with 9.1. I’m at a loss of why they are so determined to cut out the fun this game can still be instead of the chore its become.

Well, ESO has an event coming up. Another same old thing passed off as new game…

As a player who enjoys both, I don’t see where this post is coming from.

You can play both games and enjoy one more. You can wish one was as good as the other, you can share what makes one better than the other (which is great to share), there’s no reason to quit anything.

I took a very long break from WoW and I have before. I stopped playing a month into 9.0 and came back for 9.1. I voiced some opinions in that time. I even discussed Final Fantasy with reference points.

Maybe my voice in 9.0 helped make 9.1 feel this much better? IDK.

Yep. I know that you can post here without subbing.

My post is not targeted towards people who comment on the forums mostly. My post is targeted to FF14 fans who play both games, but specifically hate WoW compared to FF14 and want WoW to change.

There are plenty of FF14 fans that actually feel positive about both games and don’t mind playing and paying for both.

Angry and disappointed people often have more motivation to make forum posts in the GD than those who are just positive about the game. It could be this combined with the fact there are just general negative posts and it’s hard to tell how many actual discussion threads are just a true wow fan.

Obviously most WoW players love WoW. Everyone has criticism. I just think the negativity is overhyped.

WoW has millions of fans and they collect in the hundreds of thousands only on all social media. People forget that if Bellular Gaming gets 200k views on a video, that these aren’t 200k ONLY BELLULAR viewers. These are literally the same humans that watch Asmongold and go on the GD here.

ff14 is really not that fun. a bunch of people are on it now cause asmongold is.

As much as I don’t like the guy’s fan club, or the persona of Asmongold, he’s playing it because a lot of people were. Not the other way around. Although I’m sure many tried it because of him.

I think Asmon just gave a lot of peeps an extra push to try it out since current WoW ain’t that great.

ff14 is clearly a superior game, the only problem is, I don’t want to play as an anime character.

Waaay ahead of you. I only keep my sub active for the forum lolz. It’s pretty bad when I get more fun out of the forums than the actual game.

I love my cat more then WoW so I should quit WoW.

If enough people quit they will just sell more shop items instead of making the game better. They’d rather have whales and record profits than more people playing and enjoying the game.

Better idea: if you prefer FF14 then stop posting in the forums.

If you think Blizzard can sustain itself with it’s current business model, you are objectively a fool.

Your character already kamehamehaed the final boss of the previous expansion. After Ork Jebus kamehamehaed the final boss of another expansion. That is weebier than anything FFXIV has you do.

You are already playing an ~anime weeb~ character.

Not to mention you arent forced to make your character a pink catgirl? You can literally just play as the most generic grizzled human.

There are plenty of MMOs on the market that have a fraction of WoW’s subscribers and are even free to play that sustain themselves almost entirely with just whales who spend tons of money on the cash shop.

WoW has no incentive to change direction if they keep selling those 6 month subs, mounts, etc. And you can’t do anything to stop whales from throwing money at them. All you can do is just leave and find another game you enjoy and just forget about this game, it’s lost.

Then don’t. I truly do not understand why people think FFXIV is “anime.” Go play Genshin Impact. That game has anime characters. FFXIV is made in Japan but does not have an anime art style.

If FFXIV is “anime” to you then so are games like Dark Souls, they have the same art style. Just because something was made in Japan doesn’t make it anime.
