I guess if the person hates the game, given the content of the hate posts, they will do their best to make things worse.
So telling them that is a good thing to do might not be a good idea.
I support this in principal, though I understand why it is the way it is. If you had to rename your characters every time you took a break you’d be less likely to stick with it I’d think. The other day I wanted a name and it basically told me the name was inactive but not for long enough that I could have it, which is totally annoying, so I understand the sentiment.

There have been players starting threads all along asking for easier ways to get names released, including from characters not currently being played on active accounts. Still a bad idea.
People who want popular names need to accept that these names may not be available on their realm, not put creative thought into trying to steal them from active players.
And besides that, people who truly hate the game have already left. They aren’t reading this forum.
