Yeah I know, that’s what I’m asking the non-players.
Lack of content I enjoy.
Lack of class design I enjoy.
I’m going to stop you right here for me. I lived through Friends and Family beta through retail, I do not want to re-experience the so called, “Classic,” servers since they are not anything like Vanilla was. And with the so called, “Season of Discovery,” is just a new arcade mode for the so called Classic servers
So no, I want nothing to do with it
Edit - BTW, #SmolIndieCompanies do not lose backups of previous builds.
I loved the time it was current, but it’s just not the same. Some times better to just enjoy those memories, while making new ones.
The only way I could ever consider playing classic is if I had 40+ hours of free time each week for gaming. I doubt that will ever happen again.
Eh. To me, the one appeal classic has over retail is that the horde doesn’t have blood elves. Going back to the slower gameplay was a nice change of pace to make things feel a bit more planned out moment-to-moment but I’d either be staying in vanilla content forever, or gradually transition back to retail and any of the gripes I’d have ostensibly left it to avoid. Either way, there’s nothing to look forward to.
I play all versions of wow, and I especially enjoy me some Classic HC and SOD for when I want to experience the world being the biggest part of the game again. I play retail mostly for collections or the lobby feel of M+ and some of the quick end-game modes + my class fantasy.
To answer your question, I think that would definitely pull some people in.
Blood Elf with maybe some classic classes (like maybe druid or something like that) would especially peak retail interest.
I’m hoping they experiment with some of that in a future Classic+/SoD update someday.
So I’m legitimately curious with this mindset, do you never eat the same thing twice? What if you saw a really good movie? Does this apply for eternity or decades? Do you ever vacation the same spot twice? Or is it just with wow expansions. I haven’t played wow classic cata cause imo that’s when we moved into the actual retail game I’m just legit curious on your 0 desire to ever go back even to see if you liked it still.
I was interested in playing Classic just as it was but they turned it into something it never was. Frickin’ raid mats dropped from every mob in Wrath Classic it was bizarre and they altered the endgame and turned it into something it never was (felt more like a private server). They kept doing weird stuff like that.
Maybe they’re just using Classic as a test bed for all their wild ideas idk.
They should just make a couple classic era servers with TBC pre-patch but no access in Outlands.
It’s mostly about media consumption, which gaming is part of.
I do re-read books, as an example of an exception.
But I don’t usually replay video games.
I originally joined WoW back in Classic/Vanilla.
Didn’t like it at all, quit.
Came back way later, at the end of Cat. Loved the game, been here ever since.
I do not care to play Classic. It’s just somehow not my thing. lol
I just want permanent wrath era.
Lack of races and classes do not bother me. What stops me is the tedium.
I play sod because leveling isn’t a slog. Vanilla classic, leveling is a pain and the running simulator gets old fast.
Give me a mount and the sod leveling speed. Maybe some more buttons… and better mana regen lol and we’ll talk.
if i had an endless supply of weed and time and classic was actually locked to just classic, yet there were enough people you wouldn’t need a week of begging in trade to do a group quest
and if my collections were shared with classic and current
I’m kinda interested in seeing where classic goes after MOP. That was really the last golden-era expansion. Legion was good, but I consider it to be part of the “modern” era.
Classic WoD might as well not exist.
What would get me to play classic? Fresh start, first of all. Everyone on the same footing. Updated graphics and new class balance, not snapshot in time. Collections shared with retail (mog, mounts, etc).
Been there. Done that. Have the carpal tunnel from fishing for 10 hours straight to supply my guild with buff food in TBC. Never want to go back.
Nope.
Played Vanilla and every single expansion. Don’t need to go back to nostalgia. Remix is fine by me.
I would never play classic
Literal meme experience
If I ate the same thing for 2 years, probably not.
If I saw the same movie multiple times a week for 2 years, probably it
.
