If you could only listen to one music band/artist..

For a few years all i had was a talking heads tape in my car. Whenever i was out of fm radio range that would go on constant replay.

...

The eagles had such prolific songwriters. Meisner singing “Take it to the Limit” live was something special.

You just don't get song like this anymore

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8G9i8BEWoaw

Released the year I was born.

I was 8 when this was released. Growing up in Southern California, the Eagles and the Doors captured that time period and that place so very perfectly for me. Makes me homesick every time I hear a song from either.

And new artists need to take a page from the Eagles....all of them, are some of the best songwriters to ever live.
Coldplay..but I love dream theater too
Tom Waits.
Well if i had to choose, probably someone from the classical era.
Mozart
Beethoven
Bach
Tchaikovsky
Choplin
While I have a very large range of music in my collection, there is only one band I would trade for all the rest; there was even a period of my life where I stopped listening to all other music, and really didn't miss it. I even traveled around to see them play as many times as I could.

It seems strange I didn't see anyone mention them, not even those who certainly dated themselves with their answers. After all, "They're a band beyond description, like Jehova's favorite choir......." ;)
Enya
Sisters of Mercy
Lynard Skynard

Can i say Maynard as artist so I can get Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer??

Why, yes...yes you may. Maynard's talent (luck?) isn't just writing and singing, but finding singular musicians to work with.

My mind was blown yesterday when I watched a cover of Tool's "Lateralus" on YouTube, by a band that included brass instruments. They've had every kind of musical ensemble cover their work; Japanese Koto, string quartets, and even a very impressive rendition of "46 & 2" by a group of middle/high school students.
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum
Modest mouse
Pink Floyd or Dire Straits
a whole bunch - Marillion, Fates Warning, King Diamond (and Mercyful Fate), Depeche Mode, Opeth, IQ, Tangerine Dream, Porcupine Tree, Front Line Assembly, WatchTower...
Only one band for me the one and only ""BEACH BOYS"""
I say to my kids if there is a heaven I'm going straight to ''ROCK AND ROLL HEAVEN"
Rush, with VnV Nation being my second choice.
Disturbed with Two Steps from Hell being my 2nd option

I still dream about a fuel injected stingray vs a 413 super stock dodge
Super interesting stories in this thread! I can't stop checking in fairly often.

Also quite a few bands I'll be checking out tonight

This song from this band is a guilty pleasure for me.
