If it’s account wide I would be ok dropping 100k gold on it, but not really money. If it’s per character like it used to be, I would say 20k is fair.
5000g per character in BC was hard work to earn. I got it on all 4 of my 70s back then through hard work and a lot of targeted farming of high desire items. Most players never had 280% flying, and didn’t have it even as Wrath was in full swing. 60% flying was not about conveniently avoiding ground content, it was about necessity to get to places like Ogrila, Skettis and Elemental Plateau and do any of that content at all. I say give 60% as a default back to placate the complainers, fill the sky with elite mobs that aggro and do real damage to anyone thinking flying should be a way of avoiding danger up front, and only have those mobs turn friendly and not attack, along with 280 or 310 after doing content that unlocks it. There you have flying, but it won’t be for your convenient ability to avoid danger and obstacles at the start of the expansion.
My argument has nothing to do with avoiding danger. It’s not having the freedom to enjoy the skies when we please. The game is about fun remember. I had epic flying 3ish months in TBC. It didn’t take long if you had any clue on how to farm gold.
So 60% will do it.
And yet most people didn’t have epic flying until well after wrath. And it took a lot more time to farm up 5000g than it does to do pathfinder. Took you 3 months, rather long time even then.
Nah. Pathfinder is gone except for the timegating.
How is this more lenient than in WOTLK were I can just buy it instead of waiting a year and time gate grinding for weekS?
No, and if they did that I would take my business elsewhere I dont enjoy this game that much to turn an eye to that.
Honestly, no. I’ve already paid and paid and paid in gold each expansion that had flying avail. at top level. I absolutely refuse to pay r/l money to get my flying back (which again, I already “own”). My personal opinion? Pathfinder Part 1 should be IT. I can understand Blizz wanting us to see things on the ground first, but dragging it out for MONTHS like a punishment to those of us who enjoy flying is ridonkulus!
My 2nd opinion - If Blizz truly wants us on the ground? Stop selling flying mounts in the cash shop!
No I would not buy from shop if it can not be earned in game we can do without it.
There are plently of content I can fly over.
If they don’t want us to fly in areas I guess I will not be in area very long.
It was 5000g for epic flight, regular flight was like 800g. Later expansions tended to cost about the amount of gold you earned by questing to level.
Please don’t give Activision any ideas
I would not pay real money to unlock a game mechanic in WoW. That’s the kind of crap non-subscription games do.
I meant the amount you earned questing from 110 to 120, not 1 to 120.
I mean yeah the almost year wait is stupid. But it truly doesn’t take long to gain flying. I had flying about 8 days after the patch went live
And yes i’am comparing apple to apples. You have to farm for both. Yet people are wanting to spend real money for something so easy
Why do you think we have all this junk from both new zones? To increase demand for more bag space! You will then get people like the OP “would you pay $20 for 10 more bag slots?” and then the people chiming in “Absolutely I would pay $50 for 10 more bag slots”. Then Blizzard will add it to the store and say “By popular community demand we are adding 10 bag slots to the store for $100”.
Plus the time you spent to earn Pt 1 plus a 1 year wait. It’s not easy if that’s not the way that you play.
Heck no.

Is this a Sunday thread thing?
If not, This is disgusting its even being asked.
You are the problem.
Nope, that would just give an incentive for even more predatory tactics from Activision… I mean Blizzard.
You already pay a sub fee to play the game, how the hell do you even consider giving money for flying a valid option? o.O
