I feel like it’s time to start thinking of otherworldly races. Snek bois being left in the past.
Absolutely, my support 100%. I don’t care which side they get added to, but add them!
Here’s an easy plug that hopefully will soothe the tattered nerves of the nay-sayers:
Iron Dwarves’ reputation was based on 7th Legion in BFA, not an individual racial rep bar. They did not feature prominently in BFA except for a tiny little portion of Zuldazar. They were a CONSTANT enemy of both sides, with only a ‘tiny’ fraction of them being ‘good’. Yes, yes, they were just a reskin of dwarves, but any little story-based reasoning for Sethrak for either side is already stronger than Iron Dwarves as I see it.
Sethrak have the ‘Devoted’ faction, which is friendly to both Alliance and Horde, same with Vulpera, but Vulpera joined Horde because reasons. Sethrak could be added in Shadowlands as part of the Alliance or Horde military (pvp) rep bar rather than a ‘vol’dun’ based rep bar. There are LOTS of Sethrak in an entire underground empire. What we see in vol’dun is just the tip of the iceberg. Their story is also incomplete, and an allied race questline would help introduce them into the Alliance or Horde and help solidify their story in the world.
Also, they’re unique! They’re not just another elf, dwarf, or human reskin. They’re truly interesting. They’d also be the first reptilian race that we could have playable, and their models already have the fidelity needed to become player races. When people saw Sethrak NPC models, their reaction was instant: “I want to play that.” You can even google some of the earliest WoWhead tweets on Sethrak, and they were already filled with comments of people vouching for their support of Sethrak becoming a playable race.
Sethrak would be a fantastic addition to WoW, a breath of fresh air of lore, a unique race and culture, and plenty more options to explore besides, rather than trying to retcon, rehash, or reskin a race that already exists, or trying to shoehorn a weird loophole for Shadowlands races to be able to travel in Azeroth.
(Oh, and btw, Highmountain Tauren, Mag’har Orcs, Void Elves, Lightforged Draenei, Dark Iron Dwarves, and Nightborne were all from a previous xpac. There’s nothing that says Blizzard can’t draw from previous xpacs to make new races. In fact, out of the 10 allied races, 6 are from Legion or before and only 4 are actually from BFA, so… hah!)
I shall rattle my tail in support of the sneks
Less snakes, more elves.
Sethrak for the Alliance! (but playable is fine blizz seriously please)
I’ll take em Alliance, Horde or Neutral blizz.
Already got three (to four depending on classes) ready to go.
That’s us and we rule !
Only if their racial passive is hassssste
Aye!
Sames.
Got Hershey planned as a Hunter or Warrior. This one I plan to level boost.
A Shaman.
A Priest.
Druid and Paladin. IF Sethrak were to get these classes. Druid I would also use a level boost on. Cause why not.
Rogue is starting to sound appealing as well.
I got all the ideas.
Blizzard, I got money for the day you roll out Sethrak! I am ready.
meow. I would accept playable Sethrak. Probably be Horde but the story could be written to make them Alliance with enough motivation. Alliance needs more nonhuman races I guess anyway. Would maybe pair with Mogu for the opposite faction if you’re keeping it BFA… or gilgoblins or ankoans or I dunno whatever man I just live here.
ChrisP
More interested in seeing them on Horde, cause they are batty, like horde is batty.
Not because I wanna bait daddy blizzard with its favorite macrotransaction treat
Got a priest and a mage for sure, then either a pally or warrior, and either a druid or shammy.
I can’t wait for playable Sethrak!
I’ll be eager to make Hunter and a Rogue Sethrak. Ideally also a Warrior. I’d be surprised if they got Paladin, since their culture is loa-based and not light-based, but that’d be AWESOME if they could be Paladins. Really, just, every class. Give them Demon Hunters too. Why the heck not? I’d love to play a beyblade snek!
I wouldn’t play one but I’d love to have them around.
I!
Shouldn’t we be saying Ssssss?
That’s the spirit. I love any support for playable Sethrak.
Snek people needs love, i saye Aye
Agreed! I have personal doubts about Ogres, but after seeing the Kul Tirans, a refreshed ogre race would be great and easy for Blizzard to do!
If Blizzard ever gets around to adding them, I hope Sethrak are neutral, like Pandaren.
That way both factions can have fun with them.
The Sethrak would be a great addition. I think they should go Alliance. Its time for them to get a unique race. It would be more fun if there were natural enemies on each side as well…so we would have Vulpera vs Sethrak!
