I’ll go do something else and try later. It’s not going anywhere and I won’t be far behind.
Glad my guild voted to roll on Bloodsail. Hopefully it won’t be that bad. I’ll probably log in an hour ahead of time and try to stay logged until the “enter world” button lights up.
Otherwise, I will get my old guildmates on Discord and we’ll be shooting the $hite while we keep trying to get in.
I’d go back to playing Total War: Warhammer and wait it out.
How do you think Alts got their start…
Back in the early Server reset days…when they came up only a few at a time…you jumped on to the one that was up, even if it wasn’t your server, made a lvl 1 toon and started questing…just like the hundreds of others who were in the starter zones at that time. Than a half hour later someone would shout in chat that a certain server came back online and a large portion of the lowbie’s would quickly log off the server to get to their original server.
But those lowbies were never deleted after that day…
Honestly if there was a server I was 100% committed to playing on and the queue was 5+ hrs…I would go sleep and get up 30-60 mins before the queue should pop.
Wasn’t that the whole point of the name reservation, though?
Reserve your name so you can log in early before the realms open?
When you’re at the character screen you’ve already passed the login queue boss.
If anyone ends up in a 7 hour or even a one hour queue, Blizzard will have failed miserably.
By this definition, expect failure.
On a more realistic note, I hope everyone has to wait in the queue at least 1-minute. Will show the popularity of Classic and why it is worth continuing resources.
You don’t get to pre-log in. You can’t get to the character screen before the servers are brought online at launch time, and then you are competing with all of us so expect a queue, and on many of the servers, a HEALTHY queue indeed.
I think there seems to be a belief that the queue is like an elevator and the wait is that you need it to come back down so you can be taken to your floor(layer)… but I don’t think it works that way.I think it’s more like If Blizzard has set a server at like 50,000 split up onto 20 layers you hit a ‘queue’ when 50,000 people are on the server. You’re not waiting for them to be shuffled to another layer and get in, you’re in your queue until someone from that 50,000 logs out of the game.
They’re opening the servers 5 hours before launch for character creation, check the blue post from earlier this evening. They’ll ‘open’ and the “Enter Realm” button will be available. Currently it gives a countdown to the launch.
You won’t be sitting in the character screen. It’s not going to work that way…you will see…
from the AMA the other day (copied from the blue post)
Q: Will servers be brought down at some point before release or will players be able to sit at character select waiting for “Enter World” to activate?
A: We are likely to perform some kind of realm restarts or maintenance between now and launch. However, in the minutes leading up to launch, our plan is that the realms will up and available and the Enter World button will instantly light up once we’re launched.
I’ll lose my mind if I’m in the middle of watching Breaking Bad on my second monitor. Then I’ll play for an hour then log off to go complain on the forums.
I’ll be asking important questions, like, “Why can’t Jessie just get along with Mr. White?”
First server I find without a queue is 99% likely to be my permanent new home.
I may roll an Alliance to throw away later if Fairbanks has a multi hour queue.
people are going to be in que watching streamers be in que. inception type $&#)
