20bucks is 20 bucks in other words?
^ This.
Shadowlands is the least-grindy expansion since WoD.
DBM is one of the ones that has voice cues for people with eyesight issues. Addons have been a part of this game since itâs beginning. The only way for them to realistically counter it is just just make fights not need DBM and people vary on their opinions on raid being made more simple.
I like Asmon but he doesnât always have the best ideas for the game. Especially not ones that would go over well with many in the community.
love the one point is invalid all points are invalid arguments. just going to not respond to that crap any more pretty sure its just trolling at this point
Thing is, every point in your original post has already been talked to death on this forum.
I can give you a synopsis on each one, if youâd like.
Shouldnât have entertained him anyway. Disabled customers⊠Like really?
Weâre not about to leave something that affects the game as significantly as DBM/WeakAuras to appease a tiny percentage of players.
You think that people with disabilities shouldnât be allowed to enjoy video games?
I donât think WoW necessarily needs less grind. At the core, I would say the grinds in 9.0, 9.1, and 9.2 are a bit shorter than most grinds in older expansions. The problem that Blizzard has gotten themselves into is presentation. They canât mince their seasonal grind up into 24 parts and expect people to be able to wrap their head around it.
Imagine how many people would be less scared off if they just crunched everything down to 6 currencies that are relevant in a season? Just have valor, conquest, honor, justice, gold, and anima. Anything that doesnât use one of those 6, make it use one of those 6 and merge that defunct currency with the closest equivalent. it is important to have it be structured and recognizable. We do not need 24 currencies, we just donât. No matter the justification they are using to do this, it is wrong.
replying to more than one thing
I feel like this is more grindy than wow has been at alot of points including corroptions. conduits and covs being a huge part of it but you donât feel it as much if you already have a main.
lich king you just had gear and tokens to try to fill in if you had bad luck and people not nice enough to trade later in a patch. we went to coins. the rng coins were terrible but not having either is worse
to those saying âjust raidâ I had like 94% of achievements until legion dropped and near the end of legion it fealt like i needed to have a family and turn them into a sweatshop to even try to get all the achievements. bfa and shadowlands I have given up. but having done pretty much the entire game at points I and many others can tell you PVP, RAIDING, and MYTHIC+ are 90% of the core content and ânothing else really matters its its just points to make loosers feel better or mandatory grinds to do the real contentâ if you you are a facebook mom that likes your 6000th world quest and trying to get 1million anima over 4 covs and got halfway into normal once I am sorry you disagree
sidebar. had to camp for crabs 140 kills 1% drop random areas of timeless isle until someone else told a gm to give me theirs on a shared tag over 10 months with NPC scan and waking up in the middle of the night for bigger bag achieve
was on mechagon island for months and never got that final cd due to rng drops. gave up hope on it at this point
the nemisis achieves were only possible with 7 credit per kill cheese exploiting a bug when it first came out and is pretty much no longer obtainable
not only is the game a terrible grind. its layer over layer over layer of terrible rng for someone who never liked to gamble in the first place. even collectors / achieve wh"ladys" pristine artifact grind anyone?) and I donât think they are learning from their mistakes they keep remaking them
we are bleeding players to mmos that donât make people do this stuffâŠits that simple
you donât have to say the diariah soup is a little less chunky than last time and slurp it up. you can ask for real food its okâŠ
wow making âcontentâ to try to keep us busy forever
If WoW had 90% less grind, there wouldnât be a game to play.
Yep did the full Kyrian campaign twice yesterday was not fun the 2nd time through.
Wish they would just allow you skip the cov campaign if youâve completed it on another character.
Nah, itâd just be endgame, which most people canât do.
there would. but you would mostly log in for things you want t o do or take breaks. i know they worry about engagement metrics is why you have weekly gold to pay for the sub to stay with your friends
people quitting the game due to this is a 0 metric
3 callings a week is about 4-5k gold, if youâre at renown 80, then the 1k anima quest is another 1600.
Itâs not like 3 vaulting M+ has a significant advantage over 1 vaulting. You still only get 1 item.
So you want conduits to still be required to re-grind at a higher Ilvl, but they should also give you weapon Ilvls?
Alternate solution: Just nerf all the M+ trinkets that are problematic so they are no longer BiS.
idk how to reply to small segments
the trink nurf would help some but with how low drop rates were in raid over half my gear came from m+ because it was the only thing i had direct controll over, scale is mandatory for tanks if you nerf it they canât even push keys they would need raid equivalents put in. you try to explain to dps your weaker now they wont care they will just keep disbanding keys. with how you need a 20 now a replacement is the only option. besides if you did the grind for the drops why not just let it upgrade with valor at decently high costs? maybe last 3 upgrades cost 50% more or something.
the cov thing to be reworked to not need conduits at all just be click unlocks on a path, at 80 renouwn you have it all, but players can buy a 60 renown token to trade to their friend. maybe have to be linked to account like raf? but kinda unneeded step. telling new people they can get the full 262 conduit item if they buy a +20 carry, they can grind 200 hrs, or do the near impossible in pvp or raiding just turns them away.
you need the 3 options since most weeks even with 3 you have to throw them all away and you might be able to 10key for a month before you burn out and do 4 a week then 1 a week. when later on the more options is what you need but the smaller ammount of upgrade makes it feel less and less worth it
callings means flying around or unlocking flying to do spread out tasks like Wquest when you used to park alts at an island and do a pretty fun run for 10min and get 3-6k gold and be done for the week on that toon. was enough to where if you didnât want to farm pets or buy wow tokens or sell boosts (which is now banned but still spam trade chat which disgusted my friend who considred resubbing). sure the 10 toon thing is extreme when its daily. if its a weekly its not that bad for people who invested in it. do it all on wensday between raid in 2hrs for a 40k chunk of gold
I donât get it though. Whereâs this grind yâall are pretending exists this patch?
If this was 9.0, maybe. If this was 9.1, absolutely. If this was literally any BFA or Legion patch, sure. But this patch has absolutely nothing Iâd ever consider to be a grind; just a whole bunch of optional content.
I quit playing at the end of BFA and just bought Shadowlands and resubbed 5 days ago. After the first day I was already hitting that feeling of dread when clicking the âPlayâ button. Feels like Iâm mindlessly grinding through the main campaign with no real variance in quest types. Kill X number of creatures and Gather X number of said item. Turn in. Rinse-N-Repeat. After the first day my play time devolved to short bursts. Log in. Do a few quests. Log out. Repeat in a few hours or so.
